...I can imagine the sales speach:
"Yes Sir, no problem sir. You can have your robot on the first day after we programm our assemly robots, so that's in two weeks. If no unforseen problems occur...":)
I've sold my parrotAR2 because it is just a toy.
Limited range (even with router-wifi extender).
Even a walkera ladybug with fpv will give you more fun.
Yes, I liked it too, in fact I still like it!
When I had surround sound I loved the dfx plugin, which really was impressive...
So my question is: What now???
The music library database will be hard to replace:(
Sorry, the above information is incorrect. I just found out (after same googling) that it is possible to install the 8.1 update without a registration if you switch the user account to "local user".
Although it would be better to just get a downloadable service pack without the market to put it on a usb stick...
Last week I installed win 7 sp1. All updates were under 1gb to download.
Today I got a new Notebook with win 8 from a friend to make it usable. After the first update (620 to 650mb (wtf? they can't tell you how big the updates are)) and an hour, hitting the button a second time it wants to download 1042mb (this time precise).
And this is without the 8.1 update. For now.
For me this makes win 8 look like a complete, rushed mess!
Just looked at your link and wow: This isn't very customer friendly. Why can't i get the fucking update WITHOUT the market? Just windows-update. (Point)
Not complety free... You have to register, give away your soul and download 2.5GB from the market (unless you have a technet subscription or whatnot).
Why can't I get this with normal windows update? Just to force people to the shit-full-screen market?? I do have to download it everytime, can't put it on a usb stick...
It's a punch into customers faces (imho).
This reminds me of the sm(s) business model: You already could send emails a few mb large (for almost free of charge) in pc world, then someone came and thought Yeah, i would like to make same kind of this service with mobile phones as well. In the beginning sms were quite expensive, for just 160 (i think) letters! But, to my surprise, it worked out...
really?
come on, it's (just) office. you get it for free on apple, android and pc (with libreoffice).
although, the price is not what i meant in my post, it is the business model of "getting people to accept a (future) monthly fee" what disturbs me.
maybe i get too old or i'm just too disillusionized, i don't know.
yeah, there is a simple but not trivial version for the installation of windows 8.1 (if you want to reinstall from version 8) aswell: Install 8.1 from chip.de instruction [englich translation]
But this definitly not customer friendly.
i think the problem is that apple and google thought ok, we make something new, battery saving, optimized for low ram and whatnot and microsoft said wait, we want to be in that market aswell, but we take our windows and make it somehow useable. and we force our loyal desktop users to us that aswell. that comes along with the troubles with updates on these devices, flash usage, energy consumption
the title could have been aswell : " why is windows wasting so much flash memory on my tablet??"
or "why is windows having the worst update system on tablets and smartphones?"

...would be cool for testing!
Pictures should be streamed via WLAN, including sound for headphones output.
Could be an incredible immerse experience on a shoestring for everybody (with a smartphone).
EDIT: but would be really usefull!!
oh, your post, after a few beers, is so funny, thank you !

Oh, just after hitting the submit button i realized the capital (mistake), didn't want to upset you :)

...these medialess new microsoft office versions, where you have to make an account just to download the installer is a pita.
And only being able to upgrade to win 8.1 with the market, not by windows update??? can't download the service pack to a stick??
And the switch to monthly subscription for office is a very bad thing, i hope people realize this aswell!
i hope ms get's a salted bill for all this.

two times repaired, worse than before.
avoid them! a friend of mine is having just problems with it. dead pixels, bad touchpad...
the title could have been aswell : " why is windows wasting so much flash memory on my tablet??"
or "why is windows having the worst update system on tablets and smartphones?"
...because it's old and bloated!
