..So its almost midnight, I've got to work in the morning, and now you've got me BREAKING THE LAW, downloading ROMs and launching into a game of Gauntlet, that I damn well know is not going to end within the next few hours:
"Valkyrie is about to die!"
Well, of course I'd be Valkyrie.. Who else? I DEMAND that slashdot remove those links to those MAME sites before MORE innocent country & western-pop-stars are lured into a life of SIN. Its too late for me. -
I love the idea of the NY Times getting dragged into this.. Talk about a can of worms -and if you could get some sort of precedent on the illegality of linking to such material, you could get everyone who linked to the NY Times site involved- WooWee! (And there are people out there that dont think this involves them)
Now how many new laws do we need?.. I mean don't most things online/digital relate to something IRL that allready has a law attached? Web defacement is vandalism etc.. (except it's even easier to clean than paint vandalism..) Do we need a ton of new 'cyber laws"? -
ANDOVER, PA - A local company going by the name of PRIVACY ENFORCERS, will (for a small fee) search through your friends and neighbors mail, garbage, and phone communications, to ensure that they are not invading your right to privacy.
Mr. Swindle of the FTC, was enthusiastic - "This is a great way for the American people to take control of their privacy, and ensure that they are not being tracked, watched or recorded by neighbors, co-workers or large corporations."
PRIVACY ENFORCERS retains records from all surveillance for your convenience, and charges only a modest fee, for future searches through said data. PRIVACY ENFORCERS keeps this cost to you low, by selling data to recoup expenses. -
.. To prop open the door to the barn! And I'd use the 8 dead processors to make up some funky earings.. and the 8 live processors to.. um.. Process Map Data.. Yeah.
.. But my favorite UI was the ol' amiga UI.. Good blend of GUI & Command Line.. Now there was a machine you could get excited about.. I mean Golly They called it 'Girl Friend' for goodness sakes!
(Thas' what 'Amiga' means.. 'Girl Friend')..
Now don't get me wrong.. I like the Mac UI and all (I'm using it right now), but when I get all misty-eyed when I think of my old Amiga 500's and 2000's..
I _LOVE_ this site... I'm just having trouble finding details about how to live the title tag: "Quit your 9-5 and start living the REVOLUTION." Any tips? How can *I* become the next dot millionare?
Oh mygosh people! Don't you see! Its ALL LIES to get you to let down your gaurd! This is just a trick.. like one o'them trojan thingies! While you're out drinkin' your free-beer celebratin' and stuff, MicroSoft will be quietly breakin' up the US Government! Don't let it happen! STAY alert! Mustnt fall asleep. . . Think of the poor lil' chilrens!
Y'all know this just means two devils in'stead of one. An' thas even if "That Company" is somehow unable to get sneaky with the "forgiveness commitee" that seems to like 'em.
In Diablo II, players return to a dark world plagued by evil forces. After possessing the body of the hero who defeated him, Diablo resumes his nefarious scheme to shackle humanity into unholy slavery by joining forces with the other Prime Evils, Mephisto and Baal.
-For a minute there I thought that was "Doubleclick" not "Diablo". -
..But without the original team behind it.. how much like the good ol' amiga will this be? Ah well, at least Commodore wont be there to Fsck it up..
-
Now even if the Writing is magnificent, does it really matter with the likes of Clooney and O'donnel acting it out?

From that very page:
Fred Moody is the author of I Sing the Body Electronic: A Year with Microsoft on the Multimedia Frontier

The clear-type sample on that there page looks real good when ya' look at it compared to that teeny-weeny lil' web font they'all use.
Now mebbe if Micr'Soft replaced all 'content' on tha' web with -1 font-sizes -ClearType'd look even better by comparison.
