It can't happen. 1. it's not handicap compatible nor does it offer wheelchair assistance that a driver would. 2. while driver expense will go down the maintenance expense will rise on account of shorter maintenance cycles to check damages from a bump in the road etc. 3. Rider safety is decreased on the van level as you can't protect passengers from each other. What can happen, primary is that Drivers can be paid less because they now do less. But questions will remain 1. to sub out liability can they make it so when passengers are present one of them will be behind the wheel and driving with aid of computer unless passenger is intoxicated 2. what happens when passenger falls asleep and doesn't leave the car 3. what happens if passenger dies during travel. 4. what happens when passenger needs emergency assistance

I can't really see a city like san francisco being all about the money in this case. It's really all about following the rules that everyone else does. If you airBNB your place you increase stress on city services, traffic, parking, sewer, Police, fire, etc. You also run the risk of safety violations and you are basically increasing the rent pricing of which the city has very specific rent control over. Which if you took advantage of the rent controlled apartments in the city you could technically make a killing on those apartments through AIRBNB. Those rent controls are there to help low income households live in the city they wouldn't be able to otherwise or continue to live in a home they've rented for 30 years etc. keeping people a part of the community rather than ripping it apart.

Am I the only one that thinks they should have named the Mobile Operating System Cortana? This would do a wonderful number of things. 1. it sets the expectation that this is a mobile OS with a voice interface 2. Today it's windows or Microsoft, and with that carries a certain ahh man among developers product marketing managers, C levels, etc. It's not that Microsoft is bad, it's just associated with a lot of work. Cortana can be the Catalyst for windows mobile cross platform development. Just like iOS brought people to MAC Cortana can bring people to windows. Just like Continuum which sounds cool but really can't be associated with Microsoft by a normal user. Whereas if the name were used with Xbox user adoption would be much much higher. 3. This contract is better than most cell phone companies. Because if you pay it off sooner you pay less, and the interest rate equivalent that you are paying is roughly about 5-10 percent which is nothing in the grand scheme of things.

I think we need to take a gander at interest rates. At the retail prices you pay roughly 50-60 bucks more over 2 years. Considering that the bundle is roughly about 400 when you take tax into account. You are paying roughly 5-10 percent interest. Thats better than some student loans these days. So in reality, this bundle deal isn't all that bad. Basically Microsoft is making 5-10 percent on their money invested in you as the consumer. If you ETF you pay less pretty simple setup. It's actually better than most of the cell phone deals out there.
