heh well I get -1 troll for my post too:-) Ah well I have plenty of karma, might as well burn some sometimes eh?;-)
I suppose it all hinges on what the feature required is, a zaurus isnt comparable to a palm for pda functionality - but you can't beat the zaurus for sheer geekiness - "hey i'm running mysql/perl on here!". The problem for me is I dont have a zaurus yet and now I have to make a choice - old and cheap or new and expensive:-(
Evolution is a bad example of trying to mimic windows applications. I use Outlook every day (have to at work) and I though Evolution might be able to offer me similar features with less bloat at home. I tried the version that came with MDK 9 so it may have changed since then but it lack some of the easy intuitive use of outlook, e.g you get an email - you cant drag it to the calendar and have it enter itself as an appointment. Another is I couldnt find any way for it to notify me nicely that I have unread mail.
We are thinking of switching entirely from access to mysql for our fairly small projects. Mysql is much faster, less buggy and is easy to interface to (VB, perl, even access ^_^ ). I dont know whats keeping you with MS Access - are clickable buttons really that important to you (well if they are there are still gui clients for mysql).
"This new module gives Apache the ability to deny (403) web page retrieval from clients requesting more than one or two pages per second."
I can easily request a couple of pages a second, if i'm spawning off links to read in the background. On the other hand wouldnt an automated attack be requesting much faster than 2 per second?
We understand these things very well, thank you, which is why we go to great lengths to keep our homeland from experiencing the sort of things that have happened elsewhere in the world.
You don't seem to be doing terribly well at it, perhaps the world would be a safer place if you stopped:-)
I tried freenet a while ago and that was the problem with it, waiting ages for a page to resolve and most of the time it didnt appear at all. I'll check out this version when I get a chance, it cant be worse than the one I tried. I love the idea though, the power for anyone to publish everywhere without restriction.
It is an intutive installation system. The problem is people cant be bothered using their intuition. I know many people who rather than bothering to even read a dialog box on a computer will go and find someone to ask about it. You know those "you are about to send unencrypted information" messages in browsers, how hard is it for someone to think through the message for themselves.
Yes that graph is totally bogus, why on earth has he done that? Besides that I think the whole basis of the discussion is faulty - I dont care when debian hits 4 or 8 or 10, only that it stays as good as it is.
odd. Nautilus works fine for me, and I like it. UT2003 (both the demo and full version) worked fine. I'm not saying there are no bugs, only it seems to vary a lot based on how its set up. I guess windows is the same though as far as that goes. There were definately too many bugs in this, to the extent that it makes a stable OS look unstable.
I know what you mean, I looked at the site, thought to myself "I've never heard of this site" and then a split second later thought "I really havent been missing much!".;-)
Yep, unfortunately people love to stoop to name calling and accusations. Look twice any time you see someone calling somebody an anti-semite -its usually because they just want them to shut up because they dont agree with them. Being against Israeli policy doesnt make any one anti-semitic any more than being against American foreign policy makes you racist against whites. Its sad and childish:(
How true. It cost me £35 for malaria medicine for just a 2-3 week trip last time. I bet a lot of people there would have been glad to get £35 per month income.
I dont, the video is fine for me, it shows an old monitor showing the matrix playing back, they then swivel the monitor and pointedly trace the scart cable to the XBOX (you can guess why!).
I was hoping to see a vmware session of win2k, though perhaps it doesnt work and they are using BOCHS (because its open source...) which wouldnt make for a very dynamic video!:-)
I would assume that someone who will go to that length will also try to ensure they get the correct dose.

There are no comparable Palm models..
You should really do a little bit of research before posting, or trolling (whichever applies ^_^).

And.... if you get it to work you could animate the keyboard :-) Imagine ripples spreading out from each key as it is pressed...
Lots of Electroluminescent panel squares?
It would be fiddly but be low power and look cool.
They aren't illegal, perhaps they are in some backward dictatorship but they aren't here
Probably a week since I saw someone roll a ciggy, its not uncommon.
What if a hacker steals from someones children?
:)
We are all someones child after all

That is a boat load of adword sponsorship for someone who comes top anyway :)

Try Mandrake 9 for example, comes with nautilus which does this.

Thanks for the link, theme depot does look good. Handy sounding nautilus scripts there too.

screenshots of open office on XBOX.
duh I missed the link:
h p
http://xbox-linux.sourceforge.net/screenshots.p
Theres more screenshots and another video on that page, still doesnt show win2k in action though as far as I can see.

Dont forget Herbivore, transparent server side handling of encrypting email. Google for it, too wasted to find link :-)
