No one runs operating systems. They run apps and the OS is just a screen for the app. Linux nerds do not get this as the focus is learning and fighting the OS. People just don't give a shit alnor want to be a System Administrator. Just let them use Excel

Here is one example this week. Our WiFi is crashing and phones are blowing up about system freezes. A rogue Windows 7 upgrade decided to always fucking set wifi as default even if Ethernet is plugged in?!!
So wifi waps have hundreds of current connections now! No way to disable this besides uninstalling the wifi driver 6000 times??
Citrix is essential for 1/4 the workforce so if everyone defaults to wifi over Ethernet it takes it down.
One just one tiny update. See the problem? Windows 10 is x10 worse because it still gets updated more often with features. Now imagine 5 or 6 issues a year with the update treadmill taking down systems and forcing calls at 8pm when you're trying to eat dinner because some angry executive in China can't get his free/busy to work with the latest office 365 update?
There is a reason people prefer Android and Chromebooks. None of this nightmare spaghetti of compatibility and complexity

We had a flood prompting users at a location to move servers, switches, a copier, printers, and 20 PC's to a holiday inn conference room without notifying IT AND EXPECTED everything to just work!
They were shocked and got irked when we laughed at them. What do you mean you can't just move a server, copier, and conference phones AND not JUST WORK?! Appearently they think it's like home where magic and DHCP work with any network with servers. They were shocked it was complex and had to call Holiday Inns IT line and fly a network engineer to get VPN to get everything to function.
Enterprise IT is very complex and not like home at all regardless of IQ users assume it's all simple like their basement.
I think that is their plan..coms hate it when you have options to jump ship with your trade secrets They don't want the AWS team to gain Azure and Office365 employees.

Plan in my opinion is to fuck with AWS. If this forces Amazon to move and loose money great. Remember MS desperately wants Azure to succeed to the point of making a MS Linux and MS freebsd distros to attract customers.

While I don't disagree with your statement of big companies you maybe surprised that over 75% of people employed are small to medium sized companies. Also even the big companies may not be Amazon, Walmart, Microsoft, or Nvidia. Walmart actually is begning to get it's ass kicked in by Amazon because of customer service and convenience. My local Walmart is so short staffed and slim on employees to cut costs that it takes 1t to 20 minutes to check out! Fun when you are holding freezing ice cream in your hands all because they want to pinch pennies.
But it seems people do tolerate low quality shit and service if it is cheaper from what I gather. Most cheap companies use overseas crap anyway but I do not tolerate it if I can afford it or pay a premium and get a shit product which cost accounts LOVE doing, but costs people like me as customers in the long run.
