Bye the way here is the link to the actual Space.com story. What really intersts me is not really Pluto per se, but exploring around in the Kuiper Belt, where most of the comets are thought to be from, and just getting useful information from just beyond our solar system.
I guess so, actually I would like to see the US continue to dominate the internet, but thats mostly just because I'm a typical American imperialist. I try to convince all of my friends who dont have jobs yet to go out and get a job and then go out and get a computer so they can get online.
When I read the tidbit on the home page, I though who the hell is hunkapiller, even though I no about the HGP, I never paid attention to the names. Actually that names sounds like a BS name someone could make up for some little annectdote.
Hopefully in a couple years there will be a commercial space port down here in South Texas, Kennedy County, I live in Corpus Christi, Tx in Nueces County. Still its not that far away and I think it would be cool to see rockets taking off from our region. Hopefully they will all get it worked out and all the deals signed. Also, I just wish we would hurry up and develop FTL travel, and build some giant space cruiser and go out and kick alien ass.
I dont know if the licensing fees are quite as token as you say. Rambus doesnt produce anything so it can only make money by its stock and how much it can get in licensing fees.
Why God Why, why do "quasi-powerful" companies always try to sell inferior technology and then get all pissed off when someone comes up with something better. Dammit I want my Dual Ghz Thunderbird System with DDRSDRAM. I just hope Micron doesnt sell next, we need some companies around to fight against this rambus crap.
I dont know about that, they are trying to bring down DDRSDRAM before it even starts, albet they are doing it a bit more subtly. They are going to do it by charging more royalties on DDR and SDRAM memory then on RAMBUS, so in the end I guess we will one day get RAMBUS memory for less than SDRAM, but only because they are going to drive up SDRAM memory a couple hundred dollars.
YEah a while back a friend and mine were discussing about clock speeds for CPUs, and all the hard work the engineers must be doing to keep the clock speed rising. Like wow today we made a break through and can make get an extra 50-100 mhz out of this chip this month.
Damn all this talk about nanobots, seem like they will one day be pretty bad ass mofos, too bad I'm only just a human think it would be pretty cool to be some advanced sentient technological machine. Would be pretty cool if in the future we could transfer our minds into machines that way we wouldnt have to worry so much about them taking over as long as we had enough beings with some form of humanity in charge of the whole operation.
Just curious did it mention what the Carbon was being decomposed into? Also if anyone played Alpha Centauri, there is some nanotechnology that is shown off where it decomposes people and building and creates new weapons and such for the military. It was somewhat cool looking to see dead bodies go up and tanks grow out.
I saw that once on CNN actually. I would like to have solar panels built flush into my roof to atleast subsidize part of the cost of my electricity, and if you really want to save some electricity get some GE compact Flourescent Light Bulbs, they use significatly less electricity and look cool too.
Just an Idea, I'm a person who likes Advanced, or atleast cool technology, and I also like Efficiency. So I bought a couple of GE Compact Flourescent Light bulbs, the ones I got give out light equivilent to a 75 watt light bulb but only uses 20 watts and will last 7 years or there around. I wonder how much energy would be saved if most people used these "High-Tech" bulbs instead, they look pretty nifty too. Hey what do you want old fashioned light bulbs or more electricity for the high tech stuff.
It wouldnt quite be paintball anymore, but it would certainly kick ass. As for the the police yeah just zap most anyone in sight, put the plastic cuffs on then sort them out.
hopefully this will be good for my AMD stock

Sound like a good starting plan to me.

I loved that game, what were the three sectors of TriOptimum? Military, Science, Consumer? :)

Maybe some day, have you seen the Sony Glasstron LCD video Displays. They are Video Glasses so that you can watch DVDs and whatnot.
