yes but apple(and some others like sony) developed it and own the patents to it, so if you want to include a firewire(IEEE1394) port on your product you have to pay the royalties to apple. even though the price is only like 52 cents per port, that addes up to a lot of money that intel would have to pay apple.
if you tell the browser to save the file instead of having quicktime open it(save thislink as...) then you have the video on your hd and can watch to your hearts content

so go for one of the old sparc 10s or somthing, their not that expensive on ebay, and they still have enough power if you upgrade them to be decent

isnt this the one that uses a power pc processor(i know.. read the article) maybe it will finaly give the powerpc the recognition it deserves
