I'm not failing to comprehend anything. As the only one who seems to be able to comprehend it, I'm trying to explain it to you. You're unwilling to listen, because you can't conceive that you might be wrong.
Unnecessary. Absolutely no advantage over just keeping updated and running as non-admin.It's the type of thing people who don't understand security do and then get MITMed without even noticing.
You didn't get the point the OP made. It passed you by, and you chose to assume what he meant, missing the point in your reply. Hence the WHOOOSH, as the point was so far over your head that it made the sound passing by. Showing just how specially they make them in the UK, you replied with a Whoosh of your own, confirming my point.
Err, no, or mind showing your work? The thing is, Windows PC's vary wildly in price due to the diversity in models (ahhh, freedom to choose). To get a PC/Laptop with similar specifications than any given mac, is generally significantly cheaper. Just have a look now on Newegg at laptops with simialr spec to Macbooks, the Macs are almost twice as much.
And you're right, it isn't that restricted, aside from not being able to even change your own battery. The bigger problems are their complete disregarded for backwards and forward compatibility and the small selection of software, and no, linux software doesn't count.
Sigh. The people who always use the stupid term are always convinced it makes some kind of sense, and don't tend to listen to reason. I've lived in Canada, the USA, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Colombia, in each place for at least 1 year. I am originally from Australia.
USian makes no sense. The USA is the only country with America in it's name. If you are referring to people from the two continents, context will make that apparent. Invent a new, lame, word to solve a non existent problem, is, to reiterate, idiotic.
No. American 99% of the time refers to someone from the USA. If it is being used in the context of people from the two continents, context will make that apparent.
Please don't further use the term USian. It's...idiotic. It solves a problem that doesn't exist and only has disadvantages, not disadvantages. Please, stick with the standard 'American'. It makes things simpler for all. Thanks.
Starbucks did not fail. I'm an Australian who lives in the US, and it's amazing to me just how similar Australia is to the US, with many Aussies badmouthing the US and thinking they are still culturally closer to the UK.
I did. It's why I made the original comment. You then showed your limited comprehension (I assume) by paraphrasing my original statement. Again, good job.
How about because most laws punish people for uploading, NOT for downloading. So downloading through sites like Mega is a lot safer, especially if it's all encrypted. Besides, there is certain stuff I could never find on torrent sites, but I could get people to upload it to sites like Mega.
He has a valid point and since you seem to have a kneejerk reaction to that phrase while being unable to understand his argument, it is your intelligence that should doubted, not his.
How does the holding company own the shares of the foreign company, if the holding company does not exist in the foreign country?
Google US does not exist in the UK, Google UK does, so how can Google US (which does not exist, which is why Google UK exists) hold shares of Google UK?
With companies like Google or Coke or Sony, is it one company....say Sony is a Japanese company, that incorporates businesses in many countries which are owned by the Japanese company, and just funnel the money back into the Japanese parent corp? What is to stop the independent company from doing its own thing or making different decisions?
Or in the case of Google, how do they have say over the UK iteration of the company? Are they all controlled by the same people? What are the relationships?
First of all, android rootkits inject into the linux kernel. Second of all, most distributions are no more secure than windows after XP. They both prompt for a password to do administrator things, and both allow user files to be overwritten and infected silently.

You clearly don't, because your attempt at sarcasm makes no fucking sense. Read the thread again, and you will see why. Moron.
Sigh.
That's the problem. You think you know what happened here, but you don't.
The original Whoosh is now more apt than I ever meant it to be.
Read the thread again. I'm sure you'll figure it out.

A richer cafe culture? Australia is one of the leading consumers of fast food in the world.....

Well done, kiddo.
Polished desktop experience is subjective. Personally I think it's the worse out of the OSS choices and Windows 7.

I'm not American. Just someone smart enough to see how stupid USian is.

Why lock out /dev/tty2? and not say /dev/tty3/4/5 ?
What a silly suggestion. It's only certain kinds of people who think it is a good idea to pay *more* for a restricted platform.

Exactly. Good for you for understanding.

counting android? Windows doesn't need anti-virus, stupid users need anti-virus. Big difference.
It's not the System proxy setting, it's the IE proxy setting. Name any other software aside from IE that uses it?
