Hey if you want a cpu, you go with Intel, if you want something just to turn on, go AMD, untill they can really start leading instead of following & stealing from Intel, maybe they can make a real chip. Seeing how everything AMD has done, has only be Intel's tech drops anyways. :)

I am, i'm working on a perl benchmarking program to benchmark the throughput and latency, i'm wondering what our dual 333Mhz, 667Mhz, can do under full load. I want better latency under a load that speed. I mean i want speed but i want them to even out. Apache seems to do this well seeing how they built apache to work everyday, then be fast. :) BTW, OMG, i just saw a Microsoft ad at the top of the page? WTF? huh? Who's gonna buy that flying goat of software? sheesh

grin, I do some "real world" testing with our dual box, [dual 333Mhz=667Mhz pentium II] system, 100Mb linksys in Full Duplex, i can get some outstanding numbers when i benchmark it with the software i made to emu alot of people hitting it on a 50k file, which is the avg size for alot of sites. And we did awesome. but hey thats us, and we like to test our own things, and we don't like rebooting a NT box every day or so... I like them servers that stay up for months or years :)

I just don't believe it, This is driving me crazy, I run my own test on NT and Linux red hat, and Linux just all out kicks NT A$$!!! Here's how we do it, You take your setups, however you like, i don't care... Then you do Web benchmarking, file benchmarking, mail server under a load, dns load, MUTLI web sites being hosted, 16 people telneted in, 23 ftping, and then see how NT stands up. But what? Oh yeah, i run a web hosting comp, i do this every day, And even the HIGH-END nt box dies within 3 days, Linux, well... it's still up :) Man i hate them microsoft funded benchmarks, come over to my place where we only support Linux, and i'll show you how NT dies after so much, Now, linux does have it's limits yes, But i havn't found them yet!

We have, and it's just WAY!!! to slow to run on a dual 333mhz, with 128mb ram. It's so bloated it's not funny anymore. Must be all them sleep commands. :) Sheesh at least i can see the code for linux, and make it faster if i would like, At least linux cares about you "The End User" does Microsoft? Nope, DO you get the code? Nope, DO you get "Real User Support" when something goes wrong? Nope, I've had many problems with linux, and everytime, i get them fixed within a day. MS, WEEKS, months some times. So whats better? Linux is the right choice for any type of needs. It ain't a fad, it's movement.

What do you make of this part???? For those of you who still have the old excel 95 (not office 97) try this out: (this really works) 1 - Open a new file 2 - Scroll down to row 95 3 - Click on the row 95 button to highlight the entire row 4 - Press tab to move to the second column 5 - Now, move your mouse and click on help at the top 6 - Then click on "about Microsoft excel" 7 - Press ctrl-alt-shift and click on the tech support button at the same time. A window will appear with the title: THE HALL OF TORTURED SOULS. This is really eerie, okay! It has a doom style format and you can walk all around the hall using the arrow keys. On the sides of the walls are the names of the tortured souls....now walk up the stairs and then come back down, facing the blank wall. Now type in EXCELKFA; this will open the blank wall to reveal another secret passage, walk through the passage and do not fall off. This is difficult to do. When you get to the end you will see something really, really weird. As of this point in time, countless witnesses all over the world have verified that it is a real eye opener. It could be a joke by MS programmers. Or is it? Would it be too surprising if Bill Gates was the antichrist? After all, the bible foretold that someone powerful would rise up and lead the world to destruction. And Bill Gates definitely has this kind of power in his hands. More than 80% of computers in the world today run on windows and DOS (including those at the Pentagon). If all of his products have some kind of small program embedded, like this "hall of tortured souls," that can give him control to set off nuclear arsenals, create havoc in security systems and financial systems all over the world, etc. All from his headquarters. This isn't too far from reality. Just by using the Internet Explorer may just allow him to map out what you have on your computer bit by bit each time you log on. Perhaps the end of time is near and this is just the tip of the iceberg?
