This is the clarification I was looking for. Maybe he was just wrong. But I wonder if an argument could be made that chiptunes are a indeed a parody. It seems possible, in which case making a parody of the artwork to go along with it might be protected (?).
Actually I think it does work that way sometimes, just not consistently. While I was visiting Taiwan I made a couple of department store purchases and had my card turned off. I had to 800 them to turn it back on. Since then I usually call to tell them when I'll be gone. I wonder why the inconsistency.
Great idea. Then they can make an OS web app that runs on the browser, basically a windows add-on for firefox. That way you can upload your OS in the cloud and just stream it over 3G to all your devices whenever you need it.
A side benefit would be that Microsoft would finally get paid for all the pirated software people have stolen from them over the years.
We have a couple of experts saying it certainly could be a bug. But nobody said they found the freq it was transmitting on and got feedback from it. Kinda flimsy evidence so far.
Judging from what the screenshots look like, the "video art" it produces looks a lot like Winamp circa 1998.
I'm part of the target audience for this thing and it looks pretty useless for making video. But if you shine some lights on it, it looks kinda cool I guess. If you tell people about the open source CPU it gets even cooler.
Bootcamp FTW!

Feel free to etch your own circuit board! It's open source!

Never heard a meteorite called an "astral" body before. "Extraterritorial life"? Dr. Hoover is real, website is fake. And ugly too, I might add.
