    What a joke! @Home having one of a largest backbone....
    The only two effects of @Home going away will be:
    1) No more http requests to ?default.ida
    2) Me having to get DSL

    Please look at the @home backbone architecture... It has bad peering and lotsa hops...

    How about real time stock quotes? A few companies have multicast backbones for this sole purpose (e.g., Savvis). Requirement is then to never miss a beat from opening to closing of the market(s). You also end up have to deal with multiple streams that can be very bursty.

    In fact, this is pathetic.... InterNAP has no backbone, so they better make sure that every packet sent to one of their customers hit the right P-NAP... I don't know about you, but I would rather use an ISP that uses private peering and has a real backbone connecting the peering points. I know at least of one...
