come on people, this topic has been covered by the almight 2 skinnee Js. go on napster or whatever and search for the song "pluto" by them. with a chorus like "pluuuuuuuuuuuuuuto is a plaaaaaaanet" how can you go wrong?
"I may be the only person who feels this way...but I still think that URL's (and top-level domains) are basically a hack. They're nothing more than a label for a TCP/IP address & port number. People take this stuff WAY too seriously. "
that idea is great for techs, but what "average person" would hear "152.5.123.7:8080" and remember it, let alone be inspired to visit it?
imagine a store that could only put its phone number on its sign, have no advertising outside the store, no windows... would you be inclined to call them and see what they do? didnt think so.
i have this problem as well. so i did the halfway solution. i wrote a simple script that iterates through the dynamic pages outputting them as static html files. these files are submitted to the search engines.
the problem is of course the pages end up getting old. no problem, add a little "this is an archived version of this page, please click here for the newest version" message. rerun the script when necessary.
i did this and was able to submit all my dynamic pages to altavista. what i also did was add an additional little "prev | next" link at the bottom, so a spider could start at one page and follow links to the end. i went further and created a hallway page to submit to altavista.
also, the pages are flat so they tend to load faster than dynamic ones.
even better, open source formulas. most drugs can be put in one pill, instead its diluted so they can sell you more. imagine core recipes being public knowledge...hmmm....
With all this support of deCSS and the like, representing the entire anti-censorship movement, i am curuous as to why the article was censored and posted as "F*cked..." Why are we fighting censorship while continuing to censor at the same time? I think its giving out a mixed message. If we are fighting censorship, lets fight it all!
