Ok. I will not post materials. Just links. I am on too many mailing lists to begin a trivial discussion on another american church. Scientology is bad enough.
Ok, this one is fairly... emphatic. Gotta love the CDC. http://www.cultdeadcow.com/cDc_files/cDc-0275.tx t
And let's not forget the wonderful freethinker resources at infidels.org. Errors in the book of Mormon. http://www.infidels.org/library/modern/theism/mo rmonism/mormon.html
Now the Book of Abraham is a growing embarassment to Mormons. Fortunately, infidels.org has a mention too. http://www.infidels.org/library/modern/theism/mo rmonism/abraham.html
Oh, and lest we forget. The final portion of the archive is failed prophecies of Joseph Smith. http://www.infidels.org/library/modern/theism/mo rmonism/smith.html
I urge people to read these links, and the rest of the archives, of course. The results can be illuminating. Especially in those sections where debate is engaged in.
Curious that this post was under the heading of censorship, particularly when you think about the bill forbidding ridicule of a religion that they are trying to pass. Again, if you wish to know the origins of your scriptures, I would be happy to post them.
I would actually agree with that definition of the bible. Although, the bible is slightly more comprehensible, since it was one of the sources of the book of Mormon. If you are interested in what was used to create the book, and the errors in it, I can post them.
Written in the centuries after Jesus' supposed birth, I'm sure this message would have been a great comfort to Hypatia as she was dragged, skinned alive, and burned by a christian mob - christians who later destroyed the greatest Library in the world that she had been caretaker of.
Curious how they must be redeemed, and how the burning of the first-born so nicely coincides with the rites of fertility gods in that area. Could it have been a later addition? Remember, the text says LIKEWISE with your cattle. The cattle are burned. Also, you didn't read Ezekial 20:25,26...
How about where he orders the burning of the first-born child in Exodus 22, (a tie in is in Leviticus 22:27) and then tries to rationalize it in Ezekiel 22:25,26?
Try clicking on up one and down one at the top of any comments page. It was a way developed to try and filter Anonymous Cowards and bad posts (which some people had been complaining about) while still permitting them to be seen. It allows forum moderation without censorship. Anonymous Cowards get a default score of zero, registered users, one. Other scores given by forum moderators as comment value indicates. Very useful for filtering several hundred comments. I think there are negative scores as well...
And still using TPC-D, as well as claiming Microsoft has not responded, while Microsoft claims they worked in co-operation with Oracle to devise a fair challenge. This whole mess is nothing but PR. Why can't they just rely on the systems proving themselves in the field?
If your bike had a windshield like motorbikes and cars, a few mirror tricks could make the screen float in front of you without using technology currently beyond our capabilities.
Remember the Vogon construction fleet? Perfect sound from every wineglass, windowpane, and pretty well anything that could be used as a sound board. Now they need to figure out how to do this with rusty tin cans, and when the Vogons, come visiting, we can outshout them!
I feel should mention this at some point, perhaps it should become part of a poll. How long has your OS been up, and what OS? Hmm, hard to do 3d poll. One would have to have multiple OS and times... Say, 3 major OS, four time brackets for 12 questions. At any rate, my machine running NT4 at work has been up without crashes or reboots since August. Including quite a few software upgrades, even the ever buggy Netscape 4.5

The unfortunate thing is the fact that such "gender neutral" phrases still have a default setting. And it is not NULL. It is, in the majority of cases, male. And for people to whom it does not have the additional setting of male, the effect can be quite jarring and distract from the composition of your text. Personally, I have a preference towards hideous abuse of the plural. "They found that it did not help them to use gender neutral terms with default settings." Unfortunately, sometimes this requires using the plural with singular grammar, but it's the closest to neutrality our current version of the english language currently supports.

Do the Mormons use the bible? I was under the impression they used the tailor-made american fable written by Joseph Smith?
Shame it doesn't fit so well... poor writing.

A real schizophrenic.
I'm sure the Flat Earth Society would agree with you.
As would the Institution for Creation Research.
Surely these people are not basing their ideas on the "scientific" bible?

I seem to remember an article on slashdot previous about flexible displays. Anyone want to take the time to look it up?

Yes, much more convenient then scrolling...
