    Lack of scaleability beyond 4 CPUS?
    thats incorrect. I thought linux supported 16 cpus... basically... this article doesn't appeal to me, but there is no use arguing.

    good point.
    guess I will have to turn to wearable computers.
    I guess palmtops just aren't that usefull for my life style. It will be a while untill you can compile a kernel on it ;]
    I read up a lil on palmtops this evening... and I suppose they could be usefull... and even fun...
    but I would rather carry the extra 3lbs and have the ability to play quake2.
    then again, if they get linux on a palmtop. I might have to get one.

    I dont see the reason to buy a palmtop except for... of course.. the price.
    You can get a cheap AMD K6-2 mini-notebook for about 1300 bucks. about as big, but much more functionality?
    Anyone agree? or disagree?

    I did it all for the wookie... COME ON!

    I was speaking of the PC market. EXP. something I can find reasonably cheap.
    g3/4 are good chips. unfortunately I STILL havn't been able to find one I can put together myself.
    as far as other hardware... I have either been not impressed by it... or it is way too expensive for the mogamips.

    I appologise to all concerned.
    I was in a state of drunken linux stupur.
    still. arp only has to be compiled when ethernet networking is compiled in. I have removed arp from my kernel. used to remove icmp too.

    AMD is the best chip on the market. period. They are fighting a war with Intel, one they may loose. I support them all he way. k7 chips are faster than any Intel chip made. period. (Whats this??? 700mhz???) I truly hope they succeed. PimpSmurf

    not to be rude...
    but installing caldera when you know nothing about your computer??? silly! He should have gone with slackware/redhat/suse... anything except caldera or debian... they are great distros... but NOT... and I mean NOT for 1st time linux folk!
    This article is kind funny... but also misleading about linux.
