From the article: Windows media files carry digital rights management (DRM) protections, preventing unauthorised copying. MP3 files do not, and neither do MP3pro files, for now.
Why is it always companies want to prevent us from *breaking teh law* by copying music. I personally do not copy music that I do not own on CD or tape; but how can they tell what I own on tape or CD, and so they will stop me doing what I want to do.
I am seening before my eye the making of Saint Elz of the Internet
I know nothing of Mr Elz personally, nor of the arguement (if there is one) with auDomain Authority, but one thing I know:
MelbourneIT, which was formed with his blessing, is a great supporter of ICANN (they have a share in the new.biz tld).
They also happen to be the dfacto authority for the.au domain. AFAIK, the government's new body (auDomain Authority) will take that authoity from Melbournet IT, which they claim will lead to more competition in this namespace.
To me, it appears that whoever is controlling the.au tld has almost no bearing on whether I can register a name with them or or the cost involved (up to three times the.com tld costs)
In the ArsTechnica article, there was a mention in the RAM Usage section about the system's virtual memory
Yes, there are many more important advantages to a "real" VM system as found in OS X versus the cobbled together OS 9 implementation, but the bottom line is this: OS X will give users enough rope to hang themselves.
How does the last comment compare with other OSes. I have used Redhar 6.2 for a while now, and I never gave this a thought before.
It's a conspiracy by the US patent office. It's their way of making sure nothing changes.Another word for this is reverse psychology.
In the US, they usually do the opposite to what is being done in the UK. If it's liberal in the UK, then it's restrictive in the US. After all, American aircraft engines rotate in the opposite direction to British aircraft engines.
I know this has nothing to do with edible SOUP or unedible SOAP and might be deemed off-topic, but it has to mentioned someplace on this forum. Please, observe the the use of the article "an" in an English sentence. "an" is an indefinate article, the form of "a" used before a vowel sound. See here.
Here "content" does not start with a vowel, and here "German" does not start with a vowel sound.
FLUENT sounds like an excellent tool. Imagine how much more meaningful internet search tools would be if you could search non-English pages.
Does anyone know if there is any search engine that can currently do anything similar (even if inferior)?

Great. I hope that "now" lasts for good.

Just my two cents!

OSX would be great if Apple added a button or two to their mice.

That we will not be able to watch the whole operation on CNN?
