  1. Re:Of course they're overpriced. on Is There a Hearing Aid Price Bubble? · · Score: 1

It depends. You find an audiologist who's not a complete dick, and you can actually come out all right. My last hearing aid, I got from a awesome guy near where I used to live in the US who ended up charging me $400 for a BTE, largely because he builds them himself from parts. I live in Poland now, but when I get my next aid (sometime in 2012) you can bloody well believe it will wait until I can get back home to buy it.

  2. Nostalgiac Gaming on How Do You Get Your Geek Nostalgia Fix? · · Score: 1

Not to pimp my company, but that's one of the reasons why I work for GOG.com; I own most of the games that we sell from back when they were new. I get my nostalgia fix every day at work, which is pretty awesome. Although occasionally I go to my Linux computer and go to shell just to feel like I can still do computer things.

There's a certain truth to this, too. But we've had phenomenal luck with the gaming community supporting us and staying away from pirating our games. We think if you work hard at making a game seem like a steal at the price you're selling it, folks are less inclined to actually, you know, steal it. :D

I'd agree with you to some degree, but we've also been putting our money where our mouth is: The Witcher 2 will be available on GOG on launch day (17 May 2011) with absolutely no DRM. We still think it's a better solution than trying to hijack someone's computer and force it to act in ways they may not intend. --TheEnigmaticT GOG.com
