Has anyone seen all that's changed with new versions of browsers? It's all a result of stupid visuals that end users will use as a result of the browser wars.
Most of the time I use Netscape 4.7 - Because I don't need all that pretty shit that comes along in v6.0
I'm a web designer. I design for version 3.0 browsers and 800 x 800 (liquid tables - expands to 1024 x 768 etc...).
Oh and when I use my Mac OS X PB box at work I use omniweb sometimes...
I hope nobody listens to this idea because not all the minority browsers will be "current".
Hypercard in all its simplicity can use AppleScript as its scripting language.
AppleScript can now script tonnes of things... including scripting over TCP/IP.
In Australia there are 2 ways I guess mob phones work:
Contract or Prepaid.
Prepaid is for infrequent users and has these stupid recharge cards u must buy (a hastle).
If u get a contract here are the issues:
- Pricing for calls is often quoted per minute, but carriers charge for either per 1 sec or per 30 sec block. It makes a huge bill difference.
I don't reccomend going for contracts that outlive your warranty. I've seen 24 month contracts, and I would hate to be stuck with a broken phone that I might not have the $$$ to replace, but I must keep paying.
In fact, the OS is designed so that novice users only ever need 1 button.
Not True! If the OS is 'designed' for only needing one button, then why do I find that thoughout the Finder I am always control clicking for contextual menus to show up??
It may very well have originally been designed for one button, but all the applications use the second button (e.g. word, most games, browsers).
Ok here is my argument... In the Keynote, apple drew up a new product grid saying iMac is the consumer product, followed by the cube, then the Power Mac G4. Now if the Cube is before the PowerMac G4, why does it cost more for a cube (more than entry G4)?? The difference in specs: cube has "digital speaker system with Harman Kardon audio technology" and it's 50 MHz faster. Pricing: PowerMac G4/400 is $1599 Cube is $1799
Main reason why i bring this up... When hearing the rumours about a 'Cube G4' I thought it was the solution to stop the hole in the market for low cost Mac Servers [remember slashdot artice Rack an iMac], but it appears this cube isn't the low cost it should be if it's big brother beats it in price. Those rumours on AppleInsider orignally talked about a stacking ability of the machine [can't work now obviously], I thought that would be neat for using them as cheap servers too.
I reckon personally I'd want to save $200 and buy a Powermac G4, because desk space isn't an issue for me.
Here is what it is like for me in Australia (I am 16). Everyone in school has ICQ (that's ICQ not AIM, we all get ICQ because a friend cons us into it). The advantage of ICQ is that u can talk to serveral ppl at once (although in conversation it is hard to do more than 3-4). OK - Mobile phone messages: Approx. 1/3 Australians have mobiles It is popular among Teenagers to send SMS.. often I get stupid jokes like "r u lonesome 2nite" etc.. Most people have Nokia ph's (or the same screen size), because there seems to be a few rude ascii art pictures going around. I think the ettiquette behind SMS is kinda weird. Since PHs don't have QWERTY keyboards (most atleast - I have a ChatBoard), most messages r short & meaningful. I mean If someone never recieves SMS, then u send something like a Love You message, then it means a lot to someone... Unlike so much with phonecalls, everyone loves recieving SMS (it's the noveltly i guess). That's my story.
All I can Say is

I fit into 2 of those categories:
- I am to young to vote
- I am not a US citizen
