The domain "example.com" is reserved for testing and documentation purposes. See http://example.com/. So this would be a great place to send test emails without pissing someone off.
Maybe things are changing in this regard. I was surprised to see this when reading the datasheet for the new ASDM v5.0 (formerly known as PIX Device Manager):
"Supported Operating Systems and Web browsers... Red Hat Linux 9.0 running GNOME or KDE Red Hat Enterprise Linux WS Version 3, Mozilla 1.7.3 with Java Plug-In v1.4.2 or 1.5.0"
I haven't tried it yet, but I'm willing to bet it will work with Firefox just fine.
