Naw it's not sick it's life. I have found that most techincal people tend to talk about technology whenever they are arround other technical friends. It is just the way things are.

Top notch series of books, As a child i read them MANY times. sometimes I think they are what helped me think in a more creative way than the rest of the flock I went to highschool with. Yes i said "Flock" I manipulated them all at will, far to easy to get them all to do what i weanted them to.

your damn right !!! get that baby framed ! I railed against anything ang eveything that i felt was unjust in my school. I was suspended over 14 times in highschool. I made quite a few changes and lo and behold I was threatened on a regular basis that if i did not stop i wopuld not be aloowed to graduate. I walked and got into college just fine, it even helped from what i heard, they liked the fact that i was a "Radical Freethinker" and so i say fight on and never give up, Never surrender.

this is not about any of that, it is about being forced to participate in somthing you dislike and do not agree with. we ARE excluded from things in highschool and are told to "conform" with the rest. Most people are too scared or too stupid to be able to think for themselves and be different. it is the institution that forces them to do these things and forces them to make such strong choices. If we had it our way we would be accepted and our values and views respected, just as we respect those of others who do "conform". we are not the ones who are hurting and insulting and making the lives of freethinkers terrible to live in. It is the "main stream" groups that do it to us! try reading some of the HELLMOUTH stories. I have seen and heard more than i could ever repeat, but NEVER have i EVER seen or read one from the other side, one form the poeple who sonfrom to what the general pubic system says to. Get your head out of your ass and maybe you will see that it what is happening today and the problem is growing.

it depends on what type of technologies are developed in the next 10 to 15 years. currently a large number of oil deposits are in oil ladden shale, however we can only extract about 10-17 percent of those deposits, as our levels of oil mining tech are not up to the challenge. If the tech gets better then we could go another 50+ years running on oil based products, and that is not something i look forward to. Just think about the current level of urban development, and the population growth.....it doesn't look very good for our little planet.

/START RANT I couldn't agree more. If only someone could setup a "NEW" olympics. one where the athletes were judged on the things that matter and did not include so much bullshit. I for one am sick and tires of watching what is supposed to be a "friendly" compition between countries turn into a set of corperate sponsered games. Can we say IOC is a sellout, not to themselves but to the rest of us and to the athletes. Afterall they are the one who put in the hard work I say lets have some of them ( the athletes ) set up a new lympics, one that remaiis true to the dream that was invsioned soooo long ago. /END RANT

True enough that we at this time do not have a overly good replacement for coal or oil, however that is what research is for, and dispite what people may think i can say for sure that there is not much in the way of trying to create a NEW form of power Plant. and I must say that you are wrong and cars are not the main problem, yes they help out with pollution but all of these coal and oil burning power plants are the MAIN culprits. No we at this time do not have a viable alt. power source but we need to research one and that, as i said, is not happening. Yes cars may only be 30-50 percent efficient but they still do not cause the majority of pollution that we breathe on an everyday baises. Yes a hybrid will help reduce the car pollution, but you are only reducing 30-40 percent OF 40 percent from the whole of pollutiion (about 18-21 percent total) yes it helps but if you want to make a dent in pollution, research an alt. power source for us to use to power the rest of the planet.

  8. Cars are not the problem !! on Why Do We Still Use Gasoline? · · Score: 1

Gas powered cars are not the REAL problem, Yes they do contribute to pollution, but not to the extent that everyone seems to think. The real bad guys are the POWER COMPANIES, They burn Millions of TONS of coal and oil every MONTH to power our homes and businesses, not to mention hey would have to burn just a little bit more for that *wondeful* new elec. car of yours, and that is why most companies have not put out electric cars yet, they know it would not make any real difference !! in one moneth the power companies cause more pollution than all of the cars on the whole planet do in one YEAR!! If you don't belive me then go check it out, look up the info for your self. Until we find a new source of POWER for the power companies we will not be free of air pollution in our world.
