I am not against the Bible. However look at the outreach of the Bible on Earth. I am not just talking about a translation problems. On Earth there are too many people that haven't heard of Jesus, God, Bible, etc. Even if one believes the Bible teachings to be beyond Earth's boundaries, there is no proof that extraterrestrials would have heard of it.

  4. Re:Darwin VS God on Human Genome Confirms Evolution · · Score: 2

Furthermore, in the Christian point of view, evolution could not have occured according to the Bible.

Some have argued that the days of creation could have lasted serveral years each and evolution could have occured during that time. Problem is, evolution implies death; death occurs to species that are not fit to survive. According to the Bible, physical death did not occur until God killed to provide clothes to cover up Adam and Eve's nakedness (shame). This also implies that in the Garden of Eden, all animals up to this point were vegitarians.

Also, in Genesis there are several statements that various animals produced other animals "accorging to their kind". In using this statement repeatedly the Bible puts emphasis that there cannot be changes in kinds. Variations in "kinds" (i.e. all breeds of dogs) is fine.

Therefore, Biblically speaking evolution and creationism cannot co-exist.

Or, anyone who has their last name registered as a domain name is in jeopardy of having a dispute because there is a company that owns the other TLDs and uses it as their business name. This may be even for non-common names such as mine.

I wonder if this may be extended beyond trademark laws that currently allows two businesses to share names if they are not in the same industry.

I don't like reading notes on a computer - stresses my eyes after a while. Also, I find it more comfortable to have a reference book sitting just beneath my screen so I can quickly glance between it and the work on my monitor.

I really think that e-book reading (ala Star trek) will be the future. It will simply be a while though. Also, Star Trek doesn't address the issue of pay-per-use that I am sure will come up in our future.

The Bible is a standard for those who would accept it. If you don't accept it, what other standards are used to interpret social norms?

One's culture (and their immediate society) will attempt to define a standard but it is a loose definition that is often changed over time, with various social movements or interpreted many ways depending on what one's own view. Herein lies the problem with trying to answer the question of whether or not "computer sex" is considered adultery. The Bible says yes. Would "swingers" say "no"?

Whether any type of social conduct is acceptable or not is left to individuals, couples, or society depending on how many people a particular situation impacts. However, there are no standards so everything is left to interpretation.

BTW, not that it really matters, but my personal view is in accord with what the Bible says about adultery.

The GUI is still handled by NT so it dies, but any I/O that is going on continues to operate.

BTW, I am not pitching SteepleChase. It does its job but I don't like some of its quirks. For example, its program editor (programs are graphical/flow charts) is poor.

Due to your recent change in your service agreement, are you going to stop advertising your service as free? I am not a lawyer, but I think that it would be illegal for you to still call your service free.

You are providing a service to your customers and as a condition you are demanding a form of compensation. Compensation does not necessarily mean money. In this case you are demanding a service in return.

Here is an analogy... I tell my next door neighboor that I will shovel their sidewalk for free. However, in return the neighbor must rake my leaves. If the neighbor refuses to rake my leaves I will not shovel his sidewalk. In this case, my service is no longer "free".

I advise that you remove any use of the term "free" with regards to your service.

You could always place a camcorder in front of the TV and record the show. In case the audio is watermarked, just stick a microphone in front of the TV (although that might not work either). You could even use a timer to automatically turn your camcorder on to record shows while you are away. And if you happen to be in the room you could pan-and-scan the camera instead of just capturing the "default" center portion of the HDTV widescreen. Of course, you may need to use an older camcorder since camcorder manufacturers may impliment some form of copy protection to prevent you from "stealing" shows in this way.

This method is vulnerable to eathquakes and pets knocking your camera off its stand. Oh well, not a perfect method.

I like being able to take home movies (I have a digital camcorder that transfers the film over firwire), convert them to VCD, burn them onto a CD, then watch them on my DVD player. IMO, a much better way to view and preserve home movies.
