But ever wonder what they might run into? What if they ran into the hubble with one of those servers? I would be wetting myself.. But oh wait.. I bet the server could survive that!
Problably the easiest way to do it to the computers is to of course start with a terminal. Then you enter your options with some idiot interface (they can use canidate pictures, colors, or a donkey and a elephant, I dont care). Then it asks for confirmation, you say "I wanted the donkey, yes." The computer then punches your ballot for you. That way there is no worries about hacking the machine or hard drive failures or anything. But the ballot is always printed properly assuming its a serious voter.
All the 10-10 numbers are lines being leased out from the local phone company, because its considered a monopoly on the local phone lines. So why wouldn't it be considered a monopoly for the cable company? Maybe its because phones are almost considered a necessity these days, even welfare will pay the phone bill.
What if you hear 2 different songs by the same band in the same day and order it twice by accident? And also, how will it work with indie bands? The indie bands are the ones I would buy the most.
Well that could run into probs...

What if my arms and hands are.. busy.. when Im browsing the internet?
The only way I can think of is to have an audible watermark on all CD's, which is pointless because you couldn't get any information from that (it would be the same no matter who ripped it). If not obviously you cant decide who can rip them and with what, so they dont have to encode some water mark into them. And if you do control all ripping software (not possible) then people would just record the audio out.
Seems like they could just copy all their software on to some CD's and reinstall it when they leave. And why cant you just have a duel boot to linux and windows and hide the windows partition? The linux being legit of course. I dont think its going to happen.
I thought these were all legitimate untill I got down to things like robots taking over and aliens invading. What are the actual chances of these things happening?
I didn't read the article. But it makes sense that IBM will push any OS that uses their hardware. So if Red Hat becomes the ultimate OS, IBM would be the ultimate hardware. The only question is.. why Red Hat?
Their article that makes a bunch of arguments against "Freeloaders and Parasites" sounds rediculous. The last time I checked there was no such thing as a "Freeloader" on free music. And there were no proper rules on pirated music. By sharing music you're saying that you're supportive of pirating the music whether you get return from it or not. And it looks to me like they just made another "ratio site" except with a real client.
I think that the people that need the attention are the small sites that get ripped off. With the more established sites (like linux.com), everyone knows that he ripped it off. And they even put an article about it on the same page as important news. I think there should be more attention to small sites being ripped off as many people might not even know who made it up. But, its a big internet...
If they just went after the host that the link goes to? And what happens to links that were made before DeCSS was made? They dont have any control over what content is put on sites that they link to. And I dont think it should be their responsibility to see if their links are "DeCSS Safe".

Looks like you just put some components into a coat. When I put my Mp3 player in my coat pocket does that make the jacket smart too?

Well then they would have to worry about everyone who has had there password set on a cookie for the past year, and have forgotten their passwords ;)
Well /. doesn't set such a great example.. ./ runs their own DOS attacks on everyone bringing down just about any server ;)

Are they going to sue them for having a hyperlink too? Thats crazy

I made a php/mysql script that updated our daily bulletin... daily.. It wasn't anything too complicated, but it was enough to impress the staff =)
