for what it's worth, I am using Phoenix 0.3 and it works just fine with Defcredit CU's system here in au and the Commonwealth Bank's NetBank system. I had trouble using Opera though.

The Kelley & Pohl book is great. We had it set as the "intro to programming" text in CS at Deakin. I found its 'dissection' of programs very helpful..

In my experience with a large Australian Government organisation that specialises in making loud and unfriendly noises at people ill-disposed towards Oz, we moved to total replacement of 'real' IP address schemes with non routable 10. net addresses some time ago for all addresses inside our firewalls, as a result of government policy. It may be the same in the US and even NZ!

there is only .gov.au for Goverment activities in Australia (State and Federal). Defence (our DoD) uses the defence.gov.au domain. We do not have a .mil.au domain (at this time...)

Well, TV's might take their frame rate from your power line, but not around these parts! Frame rates are set at the local power line distribution frequency (e.g. 60 Hz in Bush country, Canada, and 50 Hz in Oz, NZ and UK) but not generated from the power source to minimize hum bars rolling through the picture (particularly on older TV sets).

They were the days...I was working for the local (oz) Sinclair importer; we had to take thousands of ZX80s apart to replace the UHF modulators with VHF (AU Ch 0 and 1) units as the marketers didn't think that the market would spring for new TV's (UHF TV hadn't been around long for us) The computers came to us ready assembled..The cassette interface was a crock..very touchy.

Shallow Seas? There are uncounted "personal" pages created by individuals who wrote them because they wanted to, not just because they were "allocated a page". Some of the most useful bits and pieces on the Internet come from pages attached (or grown out of) personal Web sites.
The Web is for many people the only voice thay will ever have in the world, good, bad or indifferent. Traditional paper publishing was/is only available to few people in the world.

it's about 2.30pm local (UTC+11). I went and looked at the Netware and NT boxes at work (Defence)at 9am; hardly a car on the roads. The servers were all just doing fine. Our boxes at home both Linux and Windows were good except for the power going off for 30 secs at midnight which reset everything!
The TV coverage is really good!
