  1. got through in person interviews twice... on Defining Google · · Score: 3, Interesting

I tried twice to get to google, passed the phone screens twice, which I guess I should consider myself happy about, but 'failed' the in person interviews both times (that was before IPO, I would assume it is much easier to get it nowadays).

My impression was that they value youth and brightness (as in, just out of school, being able to quickly recall or come up with stuff irrelevant to actual work) over actual experience... (but yes, this is obviously sour grapes !)

  2. Surprisingly good quality on MovieLink 2004's Top Film Download Service, So Far · · Score: 4, Informative

I've watched 3 movies so far and even though the regular prices are too high [but if you go through real.movielink.com they have a small number of movies $1 every week, which is how I watched mine], the limitations (24h after first view, IE, windows, etc...) are painful,... It does work suprisingly well.

I have a 100inches front projection home theater and it looks almost as good as a good DVD, and the files are only ~540Mb(*)... They must be using some pretty powerful codecs (better than dvd's mpeg2)

*: Or twice that for the "EQ" (higher quality) but again, standard quality was actually pretty good

    Just my experience

Well, you can still download the source and adapt the concept to use another vulnerability assesment tool, not just Qualys'.

Or in general, this shows that there are ways to enhance both tools efficiency by combining them.

Thanks ! I'll take this as a compliment because that was the point then: I created this about 7 years ago for a .signature, it shows that PS is a pretty neat programing language and you can express things very compactly. This progam basically can draw any goban and encodes positions of black and white stones on a single character... (See my outdated Go page for other versions)
