The link is seriously lacking in information. I'd like to see some technical specs before drawing any conclusions. It looks good, but does it deliver in other areas (battery life, performance, quality, etc.). At the moment this looks like pure hype.
Yeah Nautilis isn't perfect, but it has a lot of potential. This product really was innovative, more so that most of Microsoft's products. Maybe someone else should take up this project. I'm sure it could be successful if the business side of things was done properly.
Actually, I think the methods for determining a rating will probably be pretty simple. I don't think they are going to spend the time trying to look at every different possibility. They will play the game, work out how much blood, sex, violence, whatever that the game has and then try and slot it into a general category.
This doesn't just apply to arcade games, but store bought ones too. It doesn't stop kids from getting hold of these games, however. I'm currently 16, but I've been playing MA 15+ games for years.
Still not enough support for older video cards

I am running an old Pentium 200 with a S3 Trio 32 and there's still no support for it. Looks like I'll be using Xfree 3.X forever.
Using Napigator, I've noticed the reliability of MusicCity's server's has dropped. For example, opennap1.musiccity.com is down at 50% reliability. In fact, at the time of writing, none of their servers have a rating of higher than 82%, but a week ago they were in the 90's. Seems like their servers can't handle the load, which is a shame.
Seriously, the AU government has no idea how to implement censorship. If this will be anything like their last attempt at censorship, it will be a farce.
They would probably argue that you should have called an ambulance, and that by speeding you were putting yourself, the injured passenger, and others at risk.
Actually, I just recently set up a DirecPC system myself. I went outside and got a friend to watch the signal strength meter, took about 10 minutes to get the thing aimed correctly. And that was with very little experience with that kind of thing, someone who does that kind of thing all the time should be able to do it in less time.
The sheer cost of this would make it unfeasible for widespread use, however. Still, it's nice to see somebody making the effort to use non fossil fuel.
Actually, just because MS is getting rid of DOS doesn't necessarily mean no more legacy 16-bit processess. Windows NT has this thing called WOW (Windows on Windows) that provides support for 16-bit processes and it still seems to run even if you aren't running any 16-bit apps. Doesn't seem like this increases stability.
...but, if Borland/Inprise is spending all their time and energy producing making the same product cross-platform, is this going to have an effect on the quality of their software.
It would be great if they could implement something like the VCL in every version of their product, regardless of the platform it runs on. The added advantage being that it makes porting apps a lot easier.
Don't tell me this has been slashdotted already?!
Slashdot won't be switching any time soon, because Tux 2.0 only serves static pages. SLashdot os based entirely on Perl!

"Scotty, we need more power to the blender."
"Captain, I'm givin' her all she's got!"
"We need more speed or we're dead."

Bah, this is nothing more than a fluff piece. Please, tell me something I don't already know.

Do you have to pay for this broadcasting license? Seems like a great revenue earner for the Australian government.
Lost their foothold...? I've always been under the impression that tools like C++Builder/Delphi were more popular than products like VC++/VB.
