In my office 2000, the only thing that happens is some entries are not shown if I don't use them enough. Same thing in Win2K. I can easily show all entries with the click of a button, and it is "smart" enough to do it automatically if I'm sitting there for a few seconds looking around.
Honestly, why the hell do I need to defend Microsoft against FUD?
I can't believe you are complaining about a vague description of what a far-off technology MIGHT be able to do. Do you actually think that when this technology comes to fruition, that you won't be able to configure it the way you want? What do you care anyway, it doesn't sound like you'll be using Microsoft products when it's released.
Why? Is sex only about procreation? Is eating only about sustenance? Should we get rid of boats, personal watercraft, and anything else that runs on gas for recreational use?
"Hmm. Why do some cities have serious emissions rules, and others don't? Because.. some cities are windy, and polution gets sent 'elsewhere'.. so why should they care."
That's one opinion. Another opinion is that some cities have MORE CARS than others, and therefore generate more pollution, and THEREFORE need stricter emissions laws to survive. LA comes to mind.
"This north-american infatuation with cars is rediculous. (sic)"
Would this so-called infatuation be OK with you if all the vehicles were non-polluters? I mean, is your beef with the pollution, or the fact that north-americans have a quality of life that allows them to buy more cars than most parts of the world?
For example, consider a server with DNS name 10e20n.geo. Since it is a server at the second level of the hierarchy (tendegrees.geo), it is responsible for a 10 degree x 10 degree "cell" of the world. The service area of the cell spans from longitude 10 degrees East and latitude 20 degrees North to longitude 20 degrees East and latitude 30 degrees North.
Sounds like they are working on the foundation for a Metaverse...
I have an SUV. Why? Because I like the way it looks, I like the way it drives, I want lots of room, I want a huge trunk, I want to be able to tow a jet-ski when I finally get one, and yes, I like the power. Is there something wrong with that? If so, tough shit.
When they make a hybrid SUV, I might buy one. But I don't base my car buying decisions on what OTHER PEOPLE think I should do with my car.
If you want to buy a hybrid honda, FINE! I don't give a shit! I'll even try to remember not to crush your entire vehicle if we get in a fender bender.

And to paraphrase George Carlin's retort...

"Mozilla provides a very heavy-weight, cross-platform user interface which is highly extensible, works on a huge number of different architectures, is skinnable, uses loads of XML and snazzy technologies, and stuff like that. This user-interface is built on top of the core Gecko and Seamonkey modules."
"Unfortunately, it's pig slow."
Damn it! Wasn't the point of Mozilla to be LIGHTWEIGHT?
"Whilst I'd concede this is possible I can't envisage an environment where poor quality might be an advantage, you'll just have to enlighten me as to which environments you mean exactly?"
In general, I cannot stand Microsoft or their products. But they DO have SOME great things. SQL Server 7 comes to mind, although the licensing pisses me off (e.g. you must pay more if using more than one processor). Compared to Oracle (too expensive) and the free SQL servers (MySQL, PostgreSQL), it is quite awesome. In the hardware arena, the ball-less mice (with the MS wheels) are awesome. Their IDE interfaces for programming are top-notch (even though I don't use them because they tie me into windows).
They do have good stuff, just most of it seems to be bought or stolen from [former] competitors.
I mean, if you go outside, you might be KILLED!!
"Huge. Big motor."
Uhhh... That's because it's a truck.
"kills anyone in it's way."
Unlike other cars, right?
Good retort, though, really!

I'm sure the researchers working on this have NEVER thought of that! Good job!!

How did this get +5??

My name is John Smith. I want my own family website. A name that accurately describes my site: smith.tld. Any chance that will be unpopular?
This is just an example... use at your own risk.

He has MORE THAN ONE log?!
"I also do agree that SUV's don't make sence [sic] for everyone but a lot do have good reason's (eg towing capacity etc...) "
And if we DON'T have "good reasons" (according to you), we should feel bad about wanting/driving an SUV?

How did this get rated so high?
"When will people wake up?"
Wake up to what?

It's not called C-Hash, it's called C-Sharp.

A better question is, "Is Jon Katz fixed?"
I mean, we wouldn't want him to breed, right?
