If you look down into the pages, they're using the ATI RageXL as the graphics chip of "Expert 3DLite" graphics.. what this basically means is that they are using a 4 yr. old graphics chip and giving it a fancy new name. The way the graphics of the system are touted, you'd think they could do a little better.
Also if you'll notice, it uses IDE drives.. also cheap.
We use the ATI RageXL in a reference platform at the office, If you combine a $10 graphics chip with a $60 drive (typical wholesale from mfg. prices).. if any of the other components fall into the same category as these, then they're making a killing.
hah! If they weren't so damned expensive and proprietary (half-length sdram??) they might be profitable. Sure they have expensive OpenGL graphics cards, but are they really $2000 dollar cards?

Sure if you have to rewrite something 50 times because it doesn't work, or doesn't work properly then yeah your # of lines is going to be greater.

This is the very reason WHY linux will never gain the market acceptance it needs to become a major player for the desktop market. No one wants to touch it because shit like this happens. Someone comes up with a good idea, then some jerkoff whines and cries that its not opensource, then forms a team and writes a clone.
It seems like these developers are shooting their own feet. This is a stupid thing to do. For the kind of technology that VMWare has, i don't think Free beta's, or paying $70 is a big deal.
If you can't afford to buy something that doesn't cost a whole lot in the first place, don't ruin the company because you're cheap or don't have a job.

Yes, its a far superior OS.. FAR superior. But, what good is it if someone can't be creative and support themselves from it? Absolutely none. As much as some of you goofs that read this stuff hate to hear it, the world revolves around money. You kill the cash flow of enough companies and it'll come around to bite you in the butt later.
jeez.. why bother messing with the PII's anyway?? The PIII is out, one would think intel would spend money working on new products, or marketing.. but they keep changing the damn chip design!%#! I can't wait for the K7. Once it does i'm outtie 5...gone like donkey kong.. etc..
