There is a category of people in any technical position (such as coding, physics, engineering) that get off work, and then need to unwind with junk TV or mindless video games. There is another category that get off work and want to keep doing mentally demanding work (no idea why, but possibly because they are that passionate about a field or they are addicted to brain exercise much like some people get addicted to physical exercise).
This is a slight to Apple. Apple has no problem with traditional linux, they have a problem with Microsoft. Therefore, linux geek or not, Microsoft would be the appropriate symbol to paste on an Apple store to get a reaction from their fanbase (Google would probably work also, but not Tux).

Its not just about the RIAA.
Just wait until the rules change and they have retroactive data so can arrest you for what you did a year ago that is now illegal.
Ex post facto laws are generally unenforceable. Beware of the day, however, where an ex post facto law makes ex post facto laws legal.
