I would disagree with you there. Most swear words in Québec revolve around religion (tabarnacle, the worst word in français québecois), however France is right with the US in sexually connotative bad words.
Examples:
putain ~= damn (lit. whore)
l'enculé ~= holy shit (lit. fuck it up the ass)
ça me fait chier ~= what's up with this shit (lit. this makes me shit)
il est parti en couilles..and so on
Perhaps technical, but important to note for us français! (Of course, correct me if I'm wrong guys, to which I suspect slashdot readers would happily oblige)

This is the kind of thing that Linux needs to really be a factor, I believe. If we can achieve binary compatibility, I think we can avoid the intimidation no doubt felt by companies who fear that they'll have to release xx million versions of their software...
