I agree, having listened to just one call. It was an old lady who had lost her glasses, and was clearly in a state of genuine distress and confusion. Of course, it wasn't something the police could deal with, but she was certainly not a prank caller. I see no reason why her mental infirmity should be paraded by the police on youtube.
Anyone who feels the same way might want to complain by sending a message to Avon and Somerset Police on youtube here

"are a couple random screenshots enough to get you to "strongly disagree" about something?"
Seems to me those "random screenshots" were chosen to be good examples of what can be done with wx on OS X. They're all dreadful. If you know of better examples, I suggest you add them to the gallery.
This article bizarrely fails to mention the fight involving one of the Debian Project Leader candidates (and self proclaimed "Debian Pope") Jonathan Walther which disrupted the inaugural dinner. The Debian high-ups seem to be doing their best to keep it quiet: a few Debian bloggers wrote about it, others hinted but said nothing concrete, some entries on planet debian were later redacted, and all the DebConf organisers had to say was this.
It makes you wonder (a) what kind of lunatics are running Debian these days, and (b) whether Debian can hold together as an organisation.
I'm amazed that/. is prepared to post such a divisive and bitchy article. This is surely just flamebait, designed to puff up the writer's ego and rile RMS./. is well placed to unite the community - what's the point in giving breathing room to the endless fsf/os sniping?
It's time for the Linux folks to step up to the challenge and prove that Linux is capable of achieving better results than those published in the Mindcraft report. After all, this is the real issue.
It's true. It makes sense. And Microsoft said it. A first!
Someone had better make a damn good job of tuning up Linux/Apache - this will get a lot of publicity if Linux gets trounced again...
According to the Mindcraft web site, the offer has been posted since the 7th May. And no-one has volunteered a week later?!

"It excels in matching the native look and feel of programs on Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X."
I strongly disagree with this statement. The OS X example programs here are amongst the ugliest OS X UIs I have ever seen.
Boing Boing helpfully points out (SFW) the similarity between the Captain Copyright logo and Slashdot regular goatse.cx (which I will not link).

[History of the BBC]
The BBC was founded in 1922. They broadcast radio only until 1936 when they started their first TV channel. A lot of cool stuff.
You're scary and corporate...
That's all really

If it was funny, I'd feel differently...
