I'm not asking MS to rewrite the whole Office suite in.NET (although that would certainly lay to rest any questions about MS dedication /.NET performance /.NET future direction)
All I'm asking for is replacement of VBA with.NET. I expected this in Office 2003, and expect it again in the new Office update.
Actually, if TNEF encoding is turned on at the client and the server (default setting), non-Outlook clients won't be able to see the attachments. In this case (TNEF on at the MS client and server, and non-Outlook recipient) you really can't see anything other than the plain text at the other end, and one incomprehensible TNEF encoded attachment.
The funny part is that Outlook Express (OE) is even worse at receiving TNEF extensions than Netscape, Eudora, or other non-MS email clients. OE is hardcoded to hide the TNEF attachment, so all the OE recipient sees when you send a message with an attachment or formatting is the plain text.
There is a program that decodes attachments, but if you're using Outlook Express, it's still takes two or three extra steps per email to decode attachments.
Actually, for the last couple weeks or more, people trying to switch ADSL providers have been told by swbell that swbell's "switching software" is experiencing problems and they're unable to switch anybody right now.
Coincidentally, this is about the time that a lot of 1-year ADSL contracts are expiring.

From the article:
"The service will be free in the five Texas parks for three months; then TengoInternet, the wireless provider, will charge about $15 a day."
IBM doesn't offer 802.11g for any of their laptops yet.
Most of the latest technological advances in in-flight operations have not been confined to first class:
1. laptop power outlets: Not just in first class but also in a wide selection of coach seats.
2. LCD screens: On new 767/777s most airlines have chosen to install the new LCDs on all seats, coach included.
3. Satellite TV: Jetblue doesn't have a first class section, so all seats have LCDs with satellite tv.
4. GTE Airfones: Although much maligned (with reason) these also debuted in coach as well as first.
Pros of MySQL:
x Backend may be faster if database is designed and configured properly
x Online support is better IMHO
Pros of SQLServer:
x Compatible security model with Access
x Can use stored procedures, transactions
x Uses the Jet Engine instead of ODBC
Cons of MyODBC:
x Some data types aren't supported by the MyODBC drivers
x Clients might have to get the latest Microsoft Data Access Components

Uh, if you're lying on your stomach, wouldn't you strain your neck muscles by keeping your head up to look at the screens?
Also, isn't typing in your position uncomfortable for long stretches? (where do your elbows go)
I had problems accessing my mailbox for a week or two about three months ago. Both from the web page, and from a POP3 client.
Problems have since disappeared.
