  1. Don't buy music or you'll support terrorists! on Universal, Sony Cutting Prices on Downloaded Music · · Score: 2, Funny

I don't know if it's an American or Canadian commercial, but there is a commercial that shows how buying drugs supports terrorists.

Paying for music means that a certain percentange (remember, zero's a percent!) goes to the artist, and a certian percentage of that (100 is a percent) is spent on that artist's crippling drug addiction. Therefore, Paying for music supports terrorists!

I always make sense (or cents... depending)!

  2. I submitted this earlier, and they rejected it on MS Passport: "All Your Bits Are Belong To Us" · · Score: 1

That just makes me mad. ARRGH! And I had written it better too. Geez.

  3. Speaking of apt-get on Slashback: Aptitude, Consolation, Security · · Score: 2

I've been using Debian for too long. Somebody told me to get a life, so in my infinite* wisdom, I tried the following:

    apt-get install life

and then it told me that it couldn't find one. So I thought that any life could do, so I tried:

    apt-get install .*life

and it gave me two options (calife and xlife). I couldn't decide what kind of life I wanted, so I just forgot about it. It's too hard to get this life. (Oh wait. Maybe they meant like a LIFE not as in a program called 'life'). Hmm. Odd.

    * Infinite = limited.

...the number you have reached is not in service. Please check the number and dial again. This is a recording. *beep* *beep* *beep* *beep* *beep* (ad nausem) ...then again, it could be because I'm in Canada, but it's still funny.

  6. Those NICs are neat, BUT... on Slashback: Rumination, Apologies, Kisses · · Score: 2

...it's only good for Internet surfing. If they add StarOffice, you hook up a USB printer (if Linux supports them, I'm not sure, and I'm too lazy to look) and it'd be perfect as a machine for granny. They've got 490MB still left on their system CD, so it's feasable...

...wait a second...this smells fishy. Aren't they breaking GPL somehow? I know it sounds weird, but they don't give you a system SOURCE CD! RMS will be furious if he finds out about this! ;-)

All in all, that NIC is a neat idea! It even has a NIC, so you can hook up your cable modem to it as well! (Get it, the NIC has a NIC...har har har?)

  7. On what grounds can they do this? on Sega Shutting Down Hundreds Of ROM Sites · · Score: 1

We have the right to have one back up copy of our games in case the original cartridge breaks. The copy may be in any form: another cartridge, or a ROM. These people are offering people the convience of not having to spend precious money on a crazy gizmo to do the copying.

All ROM sites I go to have a notice stating that that is their only purpose; to offer a convienient copy. (Although some people DO abuse this service, that's not the webmaster's problem.) Sega can't shut them down because their offering a legit service--that's why what they're doing is wrong, WRONG, dammit, WRONG !
