  1. ehmmm! ...NERVA?...anybody? on Lockheed Martin to Build Nuclear Powered Spacecraft · · Score: 2, Informative

I'm surprised nobody mentioned this yet. Considering that $6M is chump change for anything NASA does and also considering that the
NERVA nuclear rocket project was started over 40 years ago I wonder how much actual invention is going to happen here or if somebody us just going to pick up the remaining pieces of NERVA.

  2. ummm...VirtualDub on The Best of Windows Open Source Software? · · Score: 1

    www.virtualdub.org

VirtualDub is one of the most impressive pieces of free, open-source Windows software I have ever come across...I haven't found any commercial product that comes close to replacing it's overall feature set, robustness, and just general utility.

"VirtualDub is a video capture/processing utility for 32-bit Windows platforms (98/NT/2000/XP), licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL). It lacks the editing power of a general-purpose editor such as Adobe Premiere, but is streamlined for fast linear operations over video. It has batch-processing capabilities for processing large numbers of files and can be extended with third-party video filters."

That waterfall shower is sweet. That is the only thing that impressed me out of all of those homes. Screw those ridiculous, complex, pointless functionality home networks.

  5. "Life Decisions" brought to you by "COPS" & Fox on Has D.A.R.E Been Effective? · · Score: 1

My big objection to DARE is that it is taught by law enforcement and at too early an age it seems.
I see very young grade schoolers associated with DARE meetings and it seems that by the time they are actually old enough to go party, DARE is a distant memory if one at all.

I smoke pot now and then and I would say it makes my life a bit richer but I never progressed to anything harder partly because I never really heard any conflicting messages about stuff like heroin. Everybody from Burroughs to Keith Richards pretty much says that you are a chump if you start using smack so I figured...Gee, they are probably right. Give accurate info about drugs, legal and otherwise and nature will do the rest.

  6. scanning for altered public keys? on PGP Vulnerability Discovered · · Score: 1

I don't really know much about this but it seems that the next logical step would be for someone to quickly write a tool that will scan public keys/keyservers to see how much this vulnerability was exploited prior to the vulnerability becoming general knowledge as of today or whenever. Is this a possible/feasible thing to do?
