Like Microsoft, they have embraced and extended the established standards of American cuisine with the goal of mass producing a slightly lower quality but highly consistant product, which has gained mass appeal for it's convenience and low price, rather than it's culinary excellence or nutritional qualities.
I will say that their french fries tasted much better back when they had some lard in their vats, instead of this all vegetable stuff.
For the average person, having to put "Yes I have been arrested, for sexual charges, but I was found not guilty" on a job application is a guarantee to not get the job, regardless of any laws. I'm in the states:) I have been ordering it direct from snuscentral.com for a long time. I don't do Camel or RJ snus. Ok, I tried them, sugar coated crap. Now Swedish Match is actually making much of the General line in the USA for local consumption, but I live in a small town that doesn't have a snus seller, so have to get it shipped UPS. Personally like General portion and Taboca, mixing it up with LD Black, Grovsnus, Ettan, Tre Ankare, etc. Its a bitch to have to ship from Sweden, but it is still better than US snus.
You may already know that Sweden actually has very strict laws regarding snus, insuring the purity of the added ingredients (ie: must be food grade) and I was just saying I would hate seeing the American tobacco companies pay off Congress to lower those standards if they became the 51st state. Not to worry, it would never, ever, ever happen. Sweds are pretty hard headed and independent folks like us yanks, and won't even switch to the Euro.

But the question is 'why still use it today', and no one today installs the whole thing with clip art now. The whole thing without clip art or frontpage is closer to 65mb, which isn't much of a 1tb drive. Even open office takes up more space.

Would you eventually just get bored with life even while you are still healthy? What would happen 50 to 100 years down the line when the average age of a person was over 100? Would we have to restrict the number of births that a couple has, to prevent even greater overpopulation? Would prisoners serving life sentences be eligible for the same treatment? Do we only reserve it for persons deemed "worthy"? Who decides that? Could it be used as a weapon?

The *good* shows, SGU, Carnivale, Dead Like Me, etc. manage to make you think, no matter how flawed they were at times, which was their downfall and why they lasted a couple of years is all. The average person doesn't want to have to commit to a show, to watch it sequentially, to pay attention while it is on. Of course, this sucks for those of us who want a show to do more than have a canned laugh every 45 seconds.
I would rather shoot myself than watch "Seinfeld" or "Two and a Half Men", while the average viewer finds it safe, predictable and entertaining and doesn't have an attention span long enough to get into more developed characters and story lines.

Interesting, but I find it difficult to envision China offering to protect Iran in this way, it would raise the ire of the entire world, including their best customer, the USA. No, China tends to stay a bit less involved in the public light. If China volunteered to protect Iran, which would be seen as helping them develop nuclear weapons, I'm pretty sure we would have B-52s carpeting the place as an emergency effort, within 72 hours. They can get there in about 18 to 20 hours with direct flight with mid-air refueling. Even China knows this could cause a global conflict, which would shut down their economy.
The U.S. has effectively, on many occasions, demonstrated the ability and willingness to carpet bomb brown people when it comes to oil. The Chinese know this.
