The one item that I failed to mention - If I'm On Call over the weekend and I fixed the problem from my current location (e.g. home, restaurant, casino, etc.) I get my On Call pay as usual, but if I have to come to work to fix the problem, it's automatically 2 hours at my regular wage. If I call someone not On Call over the weekend, and THEY come in, they automatically get 4 hours. Unfortunately these rules have not been updated to reflect how this would work with us as salaried employees, but in a 1 1/2 of working here, that hasn't happened to my knowledge since I started.
Absolutely!
I work at a community hospital in Pittsburgh. Even though Programmer-Analysts were changed over to salary, we still receive On-Call pay every time we on the On Call Analyst. I would tell you how much, but I can't legally (collusion).
Like I need that much power right now...

I can't even see myself buying another PC until the end of the year. Right now I have a Athlon 550 at home, and it's doing just fine for me. There is an article over at Sharky Extreme about the fact that there hasn't been a "killer app" for several years that has demanded a major PC upgrade - the author cites DOOM. Even now, I switch between playing Alpha Centauri, Master of Orion II, GLTron, and DopeWars.
That would seem to be difficult, at best, however, the main issue would be whether any condition could exist where water could be at least in part, liquid. Unless, of course, you want to argue that you don't need water to have the chemicals reactions required...
I don't understand why you didn't indicate what your current job title is. This makes a HUGE difference is many cases. You said that you work in the IT field and are 21 years old. Are you a Computer Operator, Technician, Programmer, Systems Analyst, SysAdmin, Script Kiddie, or what?
Also, are you trying to earn your degree, do you have any college or Post-Secondary training? Just because you enlist in the Reserves, don't think that people will respect what that commitment entails. In most cases, though, it can't hurt your chances AS LONG AS you act the part, meaning that you consistently show that you are more responsible and mature than others in your age group. You should dress appropriately, follow Marine Corps regulations regarding facial hair and haircuts (although you don't have to keep your hair always high and tight, it should always be short). Basically, after you finish with Boot Camp, take pride in who you are - a U.S. Marine!
I am almost finished with my current enlistment (May) and am considering whether or not to try to get a reenlistment as a 4066 - Small Computer Systems Specialist. But, after almost six years, you do start to get a little tired of doing and hearing the same things over and over.
The main thing to remember is that you need to make higher expectations on yourself than what other expect from you, so if you don't meet those expectations, you only disappoint yourself.
Sen. Byrd, is a big muckity-muck in Washington [D.C.].
What we want is information, not ads or hype.

The nightly news is too heavily influenced by advertisers, politics, and personal bias. The networks are more interests in holding the attention of the vast majority, than report relevant information to its community.
Sort of like DVDs vs. DIVX.
When I said it has never happened, I meant to say that noone has never had to call someone else into work. Sometimes we do come in if we are On Call.
