    I have an Athalon 900 with 256 MB of pc133 CAS2 ram. Would you call that slow? (It takes just as long to load as it did with my P2 400...)

    I love KDE. I use it all the time. But I have one small Beef with it. It takes too much time to load any kde app. like konqueror, kdesktop, etc...

    I have about 500 mp3s or more (not that many compared to most :) and a couple hundred OGG format files, and With my SBLive! and Altec Lnasing 4.1 speakers OGG deffinitly sounds bettter at the same bitrate (128 or 192)

    I don't suppose you've heard of the CANet3 have
    you? It's a nationwide OC-48 with DWDM starting
    with 8 bands of light.

    why don't farmers need broadband?

    Using your argument you don't need broadband
    either, and neither do I (but it sure is better
    than my awesome .5k throughput from my previous
    ISP).

    Not so likely.
    It's ALBERTA thats footing the bill.
    And sence our surplus is only a few
    billion dollars I think its justified.

    Now all they need to do is spend the rest
    on education and healthcare.

    Ha! How about DSL Installs that arn't possible..
    I asked Tellus and they basically said:
    "The phone lines in that area are so crappy, Its
    a wonder that your phone even works."

    So I went and got cable. and with 200kbps average
    I'm happy. (sometimes up to 300kbps)

    I've been running Mandrake with KDE for over a
    year now. I have tried Gnome but there are only
    2 things stopping me from using (Helix) Gnome
    fulltime:
    1. It's a bit slower than KDE
    (I have a p2 400, and 128 megs of ram)

    2. The 'task bar' in gnome is just an
    applet, which crashes from time to
    time. (when ever I quit some programs)

    The second one is my major Beef.

    Justified? Do you really think a $15 price tag
    for a single is justified? Expecially when you
    take into account that the artist only gets a
    small fraction of what you actually paied.

    Support the artists! That is a good thing.
    But It seems like the record companies have
    gotten corrupt. They will do anything to make
    more and more mony, including screw the artists.
