About a month and a half ago i read in the swedish magazine (Computer Sweden) about microsoft using similar tactics when handling a release party (it must have been about Windows XP or.NET) in the fashionable Berns Salonger in the central of Stockholm.
The funny part is that swedish IBM rented the more hip anexe club in the park in fron of Berns and put up a veritable Unix/IBM/Linux/Geek-party; huge signs and all. The swedish mocrosoft representatives did not like this at all and called upon the owners of Berns to muscle IBM out of the place - forcing them to remove all flashing logos and stuff.
Too bad since the IMB party seem to have been the more fun - at least acording to the reporter.

The fact that Nintendo is losing money on their hardware is simply not true.
The president of the big N (Mr. Yamauchi) has always held the position that Nintendo will//never// sell their hardware for a price less than the cost of making it. I've seen this remark in several interviews throughout the 90's. This is probably _one_ of the reasons Nintendo is still around after all these years.
the ai guru peter norvig has an interesting comparison between common lisp and python on his website. it's quite favorable and puts things in a nice perspective. not all languages make it past a comparison with one of the coolest language on the planet.
one thing you should consider is using true type fonts (works flawlessly under X). verdana ttf, renders nicely even in the tiniest of sizes. perfect for browsing the web with netscape. also the option "use my default fonts" in netscape makes thing better when browsing sites that use rediculusly small font sizes. (q3arena.com for one)
this is __news for nerds - stuff that matters__, not CNN, remember? what would/. be like if only news worthy of the title "real news" was posted. rather boring; and much like everything else i suppose.
Please don't be so quick to dismiss Warnock!

He did create the PostScript language and PDF format. Quite an accomplishment, if you ask me.
