I found the rest of the Ender's Game series to be a bit preachy. The Ender's *Shadow* series fits the first book a lot better (it follows Bean rather than Ender).
Except for the people who actually work there... you know, the ones who run the shops, the B&Bs, the hotels, the charter boats, the things that make the holiday destination a holiday destination?
I doubt Google will offer a bonus for "generic" Linux bugs, even if they effect android.
Why do you say that? Surely they would be happy to have a security hole in Android plugged, while gaining cred with the Linux community at the same time?
This makes the suggestion that Linux would benefit rather implausible, since hackers that are in it for the money will either sit on the bug and keep it to themselves, or sell it to others that are willing to offer enough money.
That is exactly why they are offering this program in the first place.
Heh, I also grew up in SC so I know *exactly* what you mean. Then again, I ended up veggie, but not militantly so. I don't try to impose my views on others, but it would probably be better for one's health not to intentionally wave a steak in my face;-)
I think the whole SC culture was a major backlash against a lot of the rest of the US, and I like to think that I managed to find a happy medium.
With quite a few of these up at any one time (to cover a wide area), and with their locations likely classified to prevent external interference, isn't there a risk of these causing safety problems with rocket launches?
You have to undergo chemo to get rid of the regular T-cells otherwise they kill your modified ones. So unless it was worth going through chemo before...
I'm not sure about the applications for HIV, as that is a virus, not a eukaryotic cell.
As the person who (in my role as an OpenStreetMap system administrator) first discovered this `incident' let me start by saying that I consider this post to be grossly irresponsible and wholly inappropriate.
The board of OSMF are making mountains out of tiny pimples here. It seems that they want this to be some sort of organised corporate malfeasance on the part of Google which is why they have tried to link it to the recent Mocality incident where there was indeed clear evidence of such behaviour.
The reality in this case is that there is no evidence that this is any different to the numerous other incidents we get all the time where users either accidentally or deliberately make bogus edits. The only difference in this case is that there happen to be two accounts (though we do not know if that is two people) and the user or users involved happen to (presumably) work for Google.
That is the sum total of what we know, and on the back of that, and without approaching Google at all, two leading board members have decided to reveal personal information about two of our users.
It seems to me that this is just an attempt to get some cheap publicity by trying to like the project to the Mocality incident, and I cannot support such behaviour....
Only two of the seventeen accounts mentioned appear to have done anything identified as improper, and we have no idea how many of those accesses relate to those accounts or indeed to signed in vs not signed in users.
Trying to read that as meaning that there have been 100,000 instances of vandalism is completely misleading.
Google doesn't offer any financial incentives to companies NOT to write their own app suite for Android. The API is publicly available. You make a terrible comparison.
And lastly with the profile, we come to another law of inequality regarding profile and aspect ratio, profiles differ but 4:3 is exactly equal to 16:9 and thus the latter does not constitute a difference.
Please, please, please check your math.
4:3 --> 1.33333:1 16:9 --> 1.7777:1
And the whole thing about patents is that if there is prior art, they are invalid. It doesn't matter if Samsung produces an identical copy, if there is any example of symmetrically bevelled edges anywhere before, it is invalid as a patent. If there is an example of anything with an equal corner radius, that one is also invalid. You can't patent a new combination of old things. Or at least *technically* you can't. If you know somebody in the patent office OTOH....
Heard of AOSP?

I think they're thinking of using water as fuel... split it with electrolysis while in orbit then burn it later.

Pre-agricultural societies fed meat to breastfeeding mothers!
Moreover, if they hadn't fed them meat, they might have starved!
WOW!
I find if I don't label people 'cunts' they're usually quite friendly.
whoosh!
It could have been worded better. Such as "Feds Shut Down Tor-obscured Narcotics Store"
BUY BUY BUY!!!!

Hmmm. So they offer something for free, and you're complaining that if your don't use it you are going to lose functionality.
In contrast, Apple makes you pay whether you want to or not. Hmmm. Which did you say is monopoly abuse?
PS. Your sig gives you away

Oh, I forgot. You're not going to keep you iPhone for long enough to need a new battery, right? You'll just get the new one...
Trivial my ass.

I see what you did there.
