I've found that the screen imprints from the keyboard on my 12" iBook goes away when I clean the screen. It's just skin oils and such. I thought it was an abrasion at first and was pretty bummed, but it cleans right up.
No kidding. Right now I'm using my iBook that came with a "20 GB" hard drive. But right under "Macintosh HD" it says "18.62 GB, 7.08 GB Free."
Where did my other 1.38 GB go? That's quite a lot if you don't understand the GB/GiB concepts, plus formatting overhead, etc. But a 20GB drive should have pretty damn close to 20 GB, just like a 20" screen shouldn't only be 18" or so.
No playstation game I have bought came in a box beyond the jewel case. In the store they are in a locked display case, or in an oversized clear security box which is removed at the checkout.
I like to think of batteries as film. You have to carry around extra rolls of film for a regular camera, so why not have extra batteries for a digital camera? My digital camera uses smartmedia cards, and they are so small that I don't even think about the space they take up. And with good capacity rechargable NiMH batteries as reasonably priced as they are there is no reason to have to buy batteries all the time.
I used to get divide by zero errors in EA Sports NHL '9x (forget what year) on my Sega Genesis. It would happen once in a while, but wasn't really predictable.
I was wondering the same thing. My sister and her husband were over watching it last night and we wondered why the show would be dedicated to someone. Knowing this now, I think it was a very nice gesture.
I bought a PSX within the past month for $99 and it is the 9001 model, which lacks the parallel port. So, this thing won't work on the newer units like mine. My friend's 7501 does have the parallel port, and he bought his maybe six months ago. So, they may still be out there if you look around.
One comment for the author: You have some credentials, but you make the reader infer them, and even that's hard until you talk about your own experience three quarters of the way down. How about front-loading your credentials on this, so that some corporate type knows who you are and why your opinion might be well-informed?
And if he put that in there somebody else would be reaming him for 'bragging about where he used to work' or something stupid, like Jon Katz always got when he would just mention Wired or whatever.
Here's an idea: instead of relying on shiny plastic to sell your product, what about perhaps including cool technology that copycats CAN'T beat?
When J. Random Consumer goes into Best Buy and remembered hearing something about the iMac, and sees the iMac next to a fake one there for less, he'll think of it as a cheaper version of the iMac, and buy it. Consumers know (and probably don't care to know) little about what the differences are between computers. They are very intimidated by all the choices, the terminology, etc.
Apple, at a time when you desperately need to reinvent your image, you get no respect for this.
Companies must defend their copyrights and patents, or else they can't defend them later on.
He's already taken care of this in the special edition ROTJ. Paraphrased line by Luke after R2 got fired out of the swamp monster's mouth:
Original: "Good thing you don't tase so good"
SE: "Good thing you got out of there"
Lame.

After cmd-K, hit the Browse button to look for servers on the network. It may take some time, but it works, pretty cool even.
What's the new spam algorithm mentioned at the end of the article? Is he doing more work on spamsum? Could be interesting.

Two different screens at different resolutions are not a mirror. Mirror requires the same pixel count on each screen.
I did this hack, and QE is disabled on both displays. Is there a way to get it back?
Mine did that once also, and I can't reproduce it. Very exciting for a few minutes, but things were odd so I fixed it.
Calm down! Games are always more fun against humans, especially if they're your friends within shouting distance.
One more thing: don't forget Cartoon Network's seven hour PPG marathon Saturday 8/12/00. Check your listings.
Agreed. I love the PPGs, and I got some of my friends hooked on them too. Who says you can't watch them if you're thirty years old?

The Tivo site has a very good faq that will answer a ton of the speculation that's going on in this discussion:

You do not need the service, apparently.

Look before you buy if you are thinking about it.

For Mac I use Nifty Telnet SSH. It's cost free and works well.
Right, because somebody has the time and ability to test it on the entire web.
