I watch MOOCS a lot and do it lazily but at least I feel alive after I finished a course. Every now and then I actually do all the work and get a certificate but most of time I am just lazy. But still I feel alive after I finish a course.
With netflix I feel my brain is dying It's like a drug if its easily available but all you get is brain rot.
People should patronize indie music and films. Most films today are created for the sheeple who basically bleat the whole day.
Even people who just read romance, mysteries if that is all they do ALL they have is brain rot and if lucky a large vocabulary. Somewhere you have to think If you never do so you might as well watch TV the whole day. And you have to read more than novels. Every now and then you have to read something technical. You just can't just read novels and nothing THEN u might as well live in tghe DARK AGES Effectively not much of a difference if that is all you do.
COBOL 3 (IBM) was designed by computer science idiots who did not really know how the language was used and turned it into the SHIT !!! I no longer follow this language but when I did program in it I could make it do anything The way it was used is with the idiom of perform 0100-routine. thru 0100-routine-exit. Instead we now have true subPorgrams which should be used sparingly but hey what do u expect when we have Comp Sci idiots designing this language who never programmed in Cobol
For your info I am conversant in todays languages and technology I bet 1/2 of the java programmers out there would not be capable of programming in a functional language The COBOL of today is JAVA Truly the SHIT
Here are examples of languages I like: C (I hate C++), ruby, GO Though I am conversant in at least one functioal language am hesitant on recommending one as of now Have to acquire more knowledge

I don't actually program in javascript but may eventually. Intodays world you have to realize it exists. It's like a standard language that you will have to use sooner ot later. Before reading this book I thought Javascript was the shit. The language to me was a fsckn mess but after reading the above book everything became golden..
