i think for tax purposes they only have to keep like 5 or 7 years worth of records.
7 years. At least, that's been the rule of thumb any of the retail places I worked at.
Besides, even if that WASN'T true, it might as well be. They ain't gonna go back to verify a $5 credit...Gamestop has never done anything to make me think they actually give half a shit about any of their customers anyway.
I mean, is this really anything more than a minor hiccup? It's pretty easy to install apps around the App Store. It's not like iOS (yet)...
There's a ton of free emu's out there for Android. Pick a substitute and game on.
As hard as people work to secure systems there are people working just as hard to make them unsecured so maybe this battle will be decided in the future but for now people will just have to accept some risk.
QFT. Look at all the wide open home networks out there, even today. I had my phone set to chime when it connected to an open network and the next day driving through my neighborhood I had to turn the damn thing off it was going off so much.
Most of it is related to the Denazification measures that were put on the books when the Allies took over Germany. I mean, we paraded German civilians through the camps and told them "look what you did, Germans", despite the fact that a good many were critical of the Nazi Party before that point but, you know, the whole Police State thing is a powerful motivator to shut up and do as you're told...
I'm not trying to be sympathetic to the Nazis; they were scumbags obviously. But our treatment of all Germans as if they WERE all Nazis was harsh and left a lot of scars.
In todays context, that would be like us holding all Pakistanis responsible for 9/11 and Bin Ladin. The UN would shit a brick if we tried something like Denazification today...
If this ends up being upheld we can pretty much kiss any photographic evidence of civil wrongdoing goodbye...
Obviously the point, but really? They're getting pretty damn brazen.
Well, at least it requires a COURT ORDER, instead of just letting some department do whatever the hell they want.
Care to guess what the ratio of requested to granted is on those "court orders"? 100%.
Well, guess we can finally add the Judicial Branch to the Executive and Legislative to the "bought off" list...sad.
What's the line I keep hearing when I complain about the TSA and being freedom fondled??
Oh yeah, "If they have nothing to hide, what are they worried about??"
Meanwhile, states left and right are giving police the right to search cell phones without a warrant...
You need to climb down off the clock tower and take a few deep breaths there, guy...
I use the term "App Store" because it's a store for Apps. I do not mean it in the sense App Store®© as in Apple's "App Store". Either way, I think you missed your fucking meds today...
Have a nice night.

Hell yes they should. To still have that receipt after this long is dedication...

If this works, I plan to trademark my house. Google can then pay me to license the picture they have of it on street view.
