servers have hot swap may and stuff like CEPH, ZFS etc make you need to have so you can pull disk out of a failed storage node and put them into an other one to get them back up!
we are just rolling over and letting the nazi take France all armed forces will be ordered to lay down there arms and there will no more Elections or free press
why lock raid 0 storage to the MB? and only on a pci-e X4 bus for 2 pci-e cards that also has web-cam and co-cpu on that same bus as well? it's not like they are lacking pci-e lanes. Each storage should have it's own cpu X4 link.
workstation users likely are on the full drivers and not the more basic WHQL ones.
ATI / AMD wins again!!
As they are open sourcing the ati video drivers in full for Linux.
overcrowding so they cut your time down.
to bad they dump all IO on the usb 2.0 bus so no gig-e hell not even full 100M much less with any disk io at the same time.
Someone make an amd ryzen board with ipmi! for systems that don't need an high end epyc system. Like xeon e3
Time for AMD EPYC where are the 1P boards super micro?
H11SSL-i / H11SSL-C / H11SSL-NC does someone have an link to a store where I CAN BUY them??
What about kicking Intel out for AMD!
and it's an easy swap unlike apple need to re glue screen to change battery there

no way to recover data is bad as well offline data copying. Mix in ssd wear and you end up with an 5K brick down the road.

ipmi slots used to be found on some server boards so they where able to sell it as an add on.
and that needs an full os running. ipmi is out side of the running os.

I want Threadripper boards with IPMI and ryzen pro boards IPMI.
ryzen pro more or less is exon-e3 class. Just need some good workstation / server non gamer boards
down clocked cpu is the custom part full cpus may just overload the cooling.
amd needs desktop level server chips / ipmi boards. Like intel exon-e3
Ryzen PRO chips fully support ECC so we just need a few boards with IPMI
ThreadRipper is an nice workstation system.
Threadripper boards with IPMI will be nice as it has higher clocks with less cores then epyc chips.
an full eypc board is overkill for smaller site hosts.
Or just Buy AMD & get no slow down with more pci-e lanes.
128 PCI-E = kick ass pci-e storage system with lot's of pci-e to drive to high speed networking.
If win the POWERBALL then you can pay for a custom bios update to unlock cpu multiplayers and get our mircocode fix.
Or if your PHB does not force Intel you can buy New AMD servers for way less.
does that redhat update slow down AMD as well? or they are flagging AMD as safe?
Socket G34 is not ThreadRipper or ZEN they DDR 4 that linked one is DDR3
*NEW was just comeing soon! any links?? Like a few days ago.
Did they rush this out??
CPU microcode updates are in bios as well.
AMD needs desktop class server chips like intel-e3.
The amd ryzen boards can do ECC but none have IPMI and most are to much gamer based.
amd ThreadRipper same thing no IPMI and no workstation boards.
