    Totally OT, but what the hell. Hospitals are not run by the pros who make them work. Ever talk to a nurse? I'm married to one. The patient/RN ratio is insane, and they keep cutting back on staff. Almost the exact situation the article poster described. And their union doesn't seem to be much help...

    Because MS is a convicted monopolist -- even if they got off with a slap on the wrist, the conviction was upheld -- so different rules apply.

    people keep saying that no lawyer would touch a refund because of bad license case due to the small amounts involved... there is an alternative, specifically designed for this... why has nobody considered going to small claims court and obtaining a judgement. once you have received a judgement, you are entitled to use the resources of the state to collect.

    You're a youngun! I turned 19. I didn't discover usenet till '84, though... my senior year at UC Santa Cruz. For those who are interested "Unix Pie" or "The Day that Unix Died" dates from 1984. I think that's one of the earlier computer songs out there. I wrote it.

    though I've been a UNIX user for 12 years Piker. 17 years. Back in the days of 4.1BSD on a Vax 11/780. And Unix V7 on a PDP-11/70.

    Dude, SCO (or is it now Caldera?) owns the IP of the Unix Source (for Intel). The Open Group owns the Unix Trademark. Anyone remember this oldie? Unix: a tool for generating registered trademarks.
