IANAL, but can they change the EULA so radically after thousands (millions?) of CueCats have been distributed? I got mine from rat shack a number of weeks ago, and immediately destroyed the CRQ CD. Now they're trying to bind me with a contract I didn't agree to? I'm going to disassemble my CueCat right now...
...if this would have been "newsworthy" here on Slashdot if the school required g++ and the student wanted to use the M$ compiler...

No way! I would be very surprised if they actually accomplished the stated goal (selling a large block of votes), but I sure hope that their REAL goal (to point out the ludicrosity of the current American political system) is achieved. They WANT some court to make a big stink about it, since publicity will drive their message home to the masses.
Besides, I think www.backstreetboys.com would qualify for the "most disgraceful thing on the web"...;)
I definitely agree. My family is semi-computer literate, and my younger brother has expressed an interest in learning Linux (cool!). My family uses AOL exclusively for connectivity (parents are dumb) and they couldn't care less which OS the use, so long as AOL works. AOL for Linux would allow me to give them a much more stable machine, and let my brother screw around with Linux as well.

Since people freely trade MP3s without the consent of the copyright owners, they'll definitely do the same with encoding and playback software. Heck, Winamp (or XMMS, if you prefer) is a much smaller download than even one normal-length MP3 file, even if the distribution must go underground.
As for hardware devices such as the RIO or Nomad being replaced with SDMI-compliant models, people can just encode SDMI-compliant tracks from MP3s or CDs or whatever once SDMI encryption is cracked.
I've mirrored the screenshots here, here, here, and here.
Kernel files are here.
Where did the X in PSX come from, anyway?

You'll want to use "wget -r". I would offer the files via FTP, but my college's sysadmin is firewall-anal-retentive.

Anyone else notice that the name of Universal's lofty, verbose windbag is Katz? Strange coincidence, I suppose...
Ah, the heck with that. Here's a direct link to the DeCSS tarball. Now Slashdot is in direct violation of the "law".

Now, of course, M$ will release xlinus, a game in which you must stop that dastardly renegade from infecting windows boxes with Linux...
