    You can always put the netboot-bootloader
    on a floppy disk. Realtek 8139 is supported
    that way by lstp.

    You'll probably need a 'real' Network card with
    EEPROM for going without a floppy drive.

    Intel etherexpress and 3com's have eeprom
    where you can flash the netboot code.
