Apple plans on getting all these updates out ASAP before the summer arrives. Although I have seen from my developer friend from Apple version 10.1. Let me say this, it's a major under the hood overhaul. Apple is trying to make 10.1 faster than their current pre-OS X softaware 9.1 which is faster than 10.0.3. Confusing? Yes. Why? I'm tired.
If everyone on here likes to bad mouth Apple and talk about how crummy and dumb their OS is and even their programs, then why is everyone interested in porting OS X and OS X programs over to Linux or Windows???? Explain that one to me.
You need to sign up with the Apple Open Source developer thingy. That's why you can't get in. Reg for free and then you get a log in and password. Don't try and make Apple seem to be a bad guy when it comes to supporting x86.
I sent this email to the RIAA after reading this post on/. : After reading the article from BBC and doing the numbers myself and reading this article (http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=01/02/26/18122 13&mode=thread); how come the RIAA is lying to the consumer? Because the RIAA has the ear of the press, and Napster does not, why won't the RIAA tell the truth to consumers? You are using the media to your advantage. How can you sit there and lie. I've heard nothing but lies come from the RIAA. I know whoever is reading this is just sitting there laughing saying someone like me can't do anything about it because I don't have anyone's ear. You're right up to a point. But you need to realize that people who can see through your lies won't put up with it. The internet is our arena of speech. You may have TV, radio, and print press for your fight against Napster, but you will never win the fight on the web. I have one suggestion for the RIAA, read the end of this article http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=01/02/26/181221 3&mode=thread and think about taking the $1 billion from Napster. Just think about it. And by the way, I'm for sure that your web page designers and IT people use Napster at home, everyone does and you can't do a thing about it.
The RIAA is pissin me off here folks. They're using the press and influential people to their advantage. Why is that?
Most of everyone here seems to forget that Apple's boxes have Apple-branded ROMs inside. Apple could pull off the x86 sales if they made their own motherboards with the Apple-branded ROM in it, thus preventing people from exploiting its OS
I've been telling everyone I know our next war will be with China. There is no agressor out there. After Russia bent over to the US with Reagan, it was apparent that China was our only last cold war enemy. After reading this, our future war may the/.ers versus China. If you get my point.
You know after reading this, I'm laughing at AV. For years I've been using AV and its advanced features to find things. Well I think AV is pretty much on my sh*t list. WOuldn't file systems on our computers count as indexing? Come on AV, come and sue me. Come on. I've indexed my files. I need a good spanking.
I remember years ago when I read what Sun Microsystems plan was for distributing apps. Everything will sit on a server. If you want to use a word processor or web browser, it will sit on your ISPs app server and you will use it from the server. Their whole idea was to go away from PCs to diskless clients. This has been their idea for years. They have diskless clients called SunRays which can do just that. "Where the network is the computer" is their slogan. Well, M$ seems to follow suit with the whole.NET idea. I don't know if they are copying the idea of Java distro apps, but whatever M$ does in the business world, they steal from others. This has been known for years. Everyone on/. will vouch that M$ steals ideas from other companies. If M$ finds a smaller competitor that has something better than them, they'll buy them out. They just steal ideas from other companies. No big surprise for anyone on here at all.
I'm getting sick of people going after eToys. They had a bad stay on the internet. It sickens me and just about anyone else on/. about people suing over names and such. Please just leave eToys alone. Their failure is enough punishment.
Anyone who believes this might as well believe everything off of theonion.com. So lets take some actual news articles from theonion.com to chew on:
White House Guidance Counselor Recommends Clinton Consider Career In Hotel Management (Is this believeable?)
Bunch Of People Apparently Saw That Brendan Fraser Mummy Movie (Is this one believeable?)
Despair.com is in the business of making people feel like shit for a purpose. To make us laugh at dumb stuff like this. You think they can trademark a few keys on a keyboard. That would be as dumb as 1-click shopping or trademarking search engine technology. Oops! It's already been done.

Yes I know that. I am pointing out that Sun is going to the whole distro apps thing this way. I work for Sun.
