i use file vault on my work computer and used to have a crontab something like this for Documents and Library:/usr/bin/rsync -av ~/Documents serverUserName@serverName:/share/serverUserName/Do cuments/backupDir
i already had generated ssh keys and this worked well. i'd have it run three times a day.
however, i began to get thinking why encrypt my local home directory only to put it on the server unencrypted. so i've switched over to using scp to copy my entire file vault disk image once a week. i have gigabit enet from my computer and back to the server, so even a 15 gb image doesn't take too long.
in my college, powerpoint is what makes the classroom experience worthless. the professor stands in front of the class, repeating the material on the slide (giving very little beyond the slide), then making the entire powerpoint available via blackboard. what in the hell happened to taking notes with pen and paper?
couldn't one just run one's passport over one of those department store anti-theft deactivators (the one that will wipe out your credit card) and be done with it?
flat earth is the opposite of round earth. flat earth audio manufacturers are british companies such as naim and linn. tubes are round earth. calculate your Flat Earth Points (FEP or your [tongue and check] Round Earth Points (REP
we have two 'books running jaguar and the itunes sharing is really slick, via an airport extreme (with old-style cards in the 'books).
since this works so well between computers, i was wondering if there is some gizmo, far cheaper than an ipod, that could grab the signal and output the sound to standard RCA jacks. (of course a cube would be really sweet too.) i know the new ipods have some kinda output from the cradle, but they don't have a wireless remote.
the new quicktime released today has the option of exporting 'sound to ogg vorbis'. i'm a mac user, but i thought you linux geeks might like to know...
i believe the university of michigan is a repository of all u.s. dissertations (for perhaps 40+ years); though i couldn't find it on the site, might be a start.
i think there are about 4-5 clicks and your mac(s) take care of the rest via migration assistant
