For example, it takes 1 core at 100% to play a 480p Video. Or, I play a video. Then I click pause. My keys (up/down/left/right/pgup/pgdn/End/Home) just stop working - I can't move around anymore. Or when I have 10 tabs opened, just the flash ads consume 50% of a core.
That's three, although the second one is not related to the CPU.
The whole point is that there is a security hole in Apple's security model. What you say is that if there is a bug, it implies the model is inherently broken?
Wow, lots of things are broken down here, trust me on that one.
Your question is futile. Information flow was very hard to control before, but the internet made this so easy that it's now all but impossible. Already, back in the days, CD burners made it very commonplace.
Music (and movies, books, photographs, etc...) are just information. As a result, the business of selling these goods is becoming an increasingly complex one to sustain. The entire copyright business is based on the (now) false premise that data distribution can be controlled. It cannot.
Now that the shit did hit the fan (not that they get it yet mind you, but it is clear to many) what is left?
Fortunately for them, pirating files is still a bit of a mess. So proposing simple models (like Amazon MP3 downloads which gives you 256kbps MP3s properly tagged) is a way that will work. Not too pricy, simple, fast. It will win because it will always be simpler than pirating your music.
I agree, but I'm a weak man, and besides I put the tainted meat on the end of a stick before I shoved it in the cage, so no injury to my hands.
Oh, I see. But it's not so much a matter of risking injuries, but rather a matter of trying to starve the troll to have him die a slow death. Then he'll be silent at long last.
Granted, the species is not at risk of disappearing anytime soon, as the daily scene of slashdot posting clearly demonstrate.
So, you've proved beyond any doubt that you've never tried Siri (more than a few minutes in an Apple Store that is).
This is well and good since you'll get a fresh new eye on it if/when you try it for real. But why pretending it's useless then?
I've had Siri for a couple of weeks. It's fine, and I don't find it all that useful. I'm not in the US so I'm missing many features, and that may be it. But clearly, it has no equivalent in the Android world that anyone has pointed out to me so far.
You should take a step back, breathe deeply for about a minute, and reread the entire conversation. Indeed, you flame. Indeed he doesn't do any marketing. He is stating facts.
You do a great disservice to the Android community, so please stop.
It looks like you missed the entire post. That's amazing.
The point is not that Apple does everything that is conceivably smart, but that Apple tries very much to polish whatever they do. Now they miss things, and they fail on others. But they fail less because what they release is consistent in terms of quality - at least for the most part.
When I installed Google's gmail app on my iPhone I was genuinely wondering what the fuck Google's engineers were thinking. I mean, I know Android, so I know better. But a clueless n00b would stumble on that piece of crap and instantly discard Google as a viable replacement for iOS. I mean, if they can release an app that mediocre, how can anyone really expect them to be able to release an entire mobile OS that works? Often, the first impression is the one that lasts longer.
Just search "repellant-resistant mosquitoes" on Google. That's not very complex. And you will learn a lot, such as how many generations are needed for insects to adapt to a repellent.
Evolution doesn't do massive steps, only small ones.
Where did you read that exactly? Are you a creationist trying to discredit evolution? It sure looks like you are. That, and the fact that you make the assumption that adapting to a repellent is a massive step. How did you get there?
Anyways, your argument is sufficiently discredited by facts to spend times arguing about it.
Moreover, they released an app that sucks big time. Slow, inconsistent, barely usable, no tags, no multiple accounts. This app is worse than the mobile gmail website.
So overall it looks like QA wasn't the only thing disregarded in the overall release.
I completely agree. This app is worthless and most certainly much much worse than iOS native mail client. Sure, you can star a mail with one click, but the app sucks big time.
Google is clearly showing a huge disparity in the quality of their stuff on this one. My advice is to stop the rush about the bug, keep the app offline and either drop it or develop something that has a little value.
Then give them a useful task like building roads... Let them read a book or go to school. I don't have a PS3. Why should gang-banger joe in prison have better stuff than me?
I'm sure that you don't have a PS3 because you put no value in owning one. You put much higher value in reading books for example.
So by your standard, playing a PS3 is less valuable than reading a book, and so they would have *less* value than you, not more.
Ah. Yes, I forgot to mention that I run Linux.

Flash is not "fine" on my Quad core i7, so I doubt it'll be "fine" on the Nook by any reasonable stretch of the word "fine".

My parsing mistake then.
Yes, not so much GNU in the Android.
Are they using their own compiler to build Android?
I was under the impression that they were using GCC, but I might be wrong.
Oooohhhh, but we got ourselves a nice little animal over there! You don't agree with someone so the someone if a fucking cunt. That's nice!
Were you born with all those two neurons or did you grow the second one afterwards?
Ah! If only...

The point is that the AC saying it was a bad idea is a troll, hence deserves no answers.
I was up early myself, and I may be up too late.
The parent is called a troll. What you're doing is called feeding the trolls.
It is usually advised to not feed the trolls.
As far as I can parse English, you were responding to the "Never seen repellant-resistant mosquitoes have ya?"
Answering "I won't" to "I'll give you the rest of that point though." makes no sense to me.
So, you've proved beyond any doubt that you've never tried Siri (more than a few minutes in an Apple Store that is).

Where's the -1 fanboy mod?
Up your ass ;-)

what about the Blind mosquito?
Busy hitting walls.
Which, if I am not mistaken, is the same as saying "they need blood to survive as a species."
FTFY.
I won't.
