and they need to spend that money in Washington to end the software patent system.
Rather, they'll buy some patent portfolios from random failing tech companies and they will jump in the bandwagon of software patents. It is a much easier route to safety for them.
I'm just saying having influence in China might be enough to ban a product entirely from the country, although the iPad has a bit of exposure. Now, I don't think Samsung has any - or at least not that much.
It might work in China, but for the rest, I believe they have a judiciary system that is a bit autonomous so I guess it's going to be complex.
That said, it's obviously easier for Apple since they were first to market. Samsung can hardly say "they copied us with their new iPad" since Samsung themselves (with Google obviously) cloned the iPhone and the iPad for so long.

Dude, the two you cited are enough. Why should I be less trusted than another person while renting or applying for a job? This is just insane.
This also is only "everlasting" and "green" for as long as the nuclear power plants are feeding the broadcasters with cheap energy. Unless the antennas can generate enough energy from the cosmic microwave background radiation.
Today, this energy is wasted 100%. If we can harvest a little out of it, it's a bonus.

I don't *need* to be trusted???? Do you realize what you just wrote?
Do you realize the range of things for which a credit check is run? It's not just for money anymore, it's pretty much done for anything. And if it comes back empty, you're out of luck.
There is a few range of things that I use flash for. Annoying things, but still.
Examples: - Snippets of songs on amazon - Google analytics reports - I have no more example in mind.
All in all, I like to have flash *when I want it* and no flash the rest of the time.

Exactly. What if I don't want any credit? Then I am not to be trusted?

Well, this is just a card so that you can accumulate "points" whenever you buy stuff and after spending lots, you get a $2 freeby in return. No big deal really. I just used it to illustrate my point and it wasn't the best example.
However, you can't imagine the range of things that are more complex (or expensive) to do when you have no credit history at all. Getting a loan is one example. And no, having a checking account that has always been positive for the last 4 years doesn't seem to help either.
I'd rather have an extension that asks me permission before playing a sound and/or any kind of animated crap. Animated crap is hard to detect, but sound? come on !
Last time I was on the french yellow pages. I left the browser open and came back a few hours later. The damn thing was crunching half of a core just displaying an ad ! Unbelievable.
Flashblock is of the essence my friends! Unfortunately with HTML5 flash is not the only way to animate crap on a page.

There, you can read: "Students can test and debug their applications using Xcode’s graphical debugger, or collect real-time performance data in Instruments’ timeline view. To see their work in action and ensure proper functionality, students can install their applications directly on iPad, iPhone and iPod touch."
Emphasis mine. Three options here: 1. You're wrong 2. They lie 3. I can't read.

I used to live in the US for about 4 years. I didn't take ANY credit at all (just renting my place and bought used cars). In the end, I got some customer card refused in some shitty store because I didn't have any "credit history".
In other words, the store refused to trust me because I didn't have any debt. I tried to explain that I was paying everything cash, and that this was way better than paying with credit, but alas.
The US as a society is completely screwed in this regard. To be trusted, you need to have had many debts and you need to display your spotless track record of reimbursing this debt. The fact that you have no debt (and never had) is a mark of distrust. How more screwed up can it be?
It's not surprising (to me) that the government is thinking along the same lines.
Firefox may very well be an exception to this, but certainly not Webkit, which is *not* a web browser. And no, Chrome is not open source, nor is Safari.
My friend, you are simply dreaming. I don't say that this store you're talking about doesn't exist, but the ipad2 is outselling all the devices you mentioned combined in most other stores ! And that's pretty much all across Europe (and north america for that matter)
Now, of course, Android will catch up as it did with phones. Obviously a piece of free software backed by 20+ tablet makers will eventually overcome the one product made by Apple. Of course. But none of these products will beat Apple when it comes to a 1 on 1 fight.

Ok,let's get through Apple's website together. Starting point:

clisk: "Learn more about our developer program"

Unless your device is placed in between the emitter and someone wanting to actually receive them, I can see no possible interference.
Isn't this what I said?
No. Go and re-read your own post. You said the Tab has the ability to lock orientation.

Of course! 99% of so-called OSS-advocates, are really looking for good software that is $0 and legal. Nothing else matters.
