Netflix business method isn't really original. In the 50's I lived in London and belonged to Harrod's lending library. For a monthly fee you could have three books out at a time. The boooks were delivered by the Harrods Van. They came in reusable pasteboard boxes.
When you joined, you were asigned a librarian who got to know your tastes. Every time you returned a book the librarian would pick out another and ship it to you.
Are we sure this isn't a joke? The article is clear about how you lose an hour in the fall but how do you gain an hour in the spring? Stop the clock for 11 hours?
I have lots of miles on AA and I refuse to sign that disclaimer. As a result I have to use their call center to get at my AA Advantage account. I've made several complaints about the language in the disclaimer, including a letter to the Chairman. All of them have been shrugged off without a substantive reply. My next step is going to be to concentrate on building up miles on another airline. Signing that agreement is simply not an option.

Sounds a lot like Netflix to me.
I shouldn't think we'd need anything very elaborate for a DoS attack on the aliens. Just link /. to them.

I get scanned by RR every few days. If you take a look at this site you'll see an explanation(?) of what they're doing.
