I've seen legal music in Russia back when I lived there (about 5 years ago).
I remember it primarily because it was way the heck out of my price range. Surprisingly enough, I couldn't find pirated replacements. (There's not a lot of demand for old Rod Steward discs in the mainstream.)
I expect the amount of legal foreign music would diminish as one moved away from big cities and into the province.
"Roof" is a literal translation of "krisha", which basically means protection/bodyguards (often unscrupulous) in Russian slang. Typically if you have a "roof", you're not to be messed with.
I don't know about that. I used to run 2K, then bought a Radeon and suddenly 2K decided not to recognize video drivers properly. As in, I had to reinstall them after each reboot (which is a bit tricky, since installing video drivers typically requires a reboot.)
Then I installed 2K on a brand new harddrive. Applied SP2, but it didn't stick. It continued thinking it was just SP1. Weird.
XP, on the other hand, gave me no driver problems whatsoever. That is, XP Pro. XP Home just sucks.:)
By the same token, if someone is poor, I doubt they will buy games or MS software (which is more expensive than a month of Internet access, in most cases. I can't speak for prices in Belgium, though.)
Personally I think that poor people need better jobs/money/food/etc, not computers, but that's just me.:)
I don't know... Being able to open applications with one click instead of two doesn't seem like great customization to me. Customization of MS OS that can be done by a user is considerably less, compared to what can be done with Linux.
Granted, Linux is harder to learn and use at first.
Now every n00b from script-kiddies to regular people looking to catch a break in-game can all come together to help ruin the in-game economy.
Which part of "Blizzard is fixing the bug" did you miss? If it's fixed, any moron can keep trying to dupe and fail over and over and over.

I've not been in Russia in 5 years, but I doubt this changed significantly.
$20 is how much some people make in a month, especially in more remote/rural areas. I believe some seniors' pension hovers around that amount as well.
It's possible. They won't be top of the line PCs, but still.
Of course, if the PCs are old enough, they likely wouldn't be able to handle XP anyway, SE or otherwise.
